1964 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

This is an extremly nice, clean and very tight 1964 V.W.Bug. 1964 is what I consider the last year of the real Bug's classic looks and the smaller windows. This Bug is very dry, the original floors are outstanding! The interior speaks for itself, look at the pictures. All glass is great , window rubbers and all rubber for that matter is great! This Bug will roll down the Highway at 70+ with no problem. This sweet Bug has had three owners and has been in Santa Barbara for 58 years. The gentleman I bought it from actually owned it twice as he sold it to a friend during a nasty divorce. This Iconic Bug has had one nice repaint years ago in it's original white. The body has a couple small dings, so small I couldn't get a good photo of them. The original motor has been replaced with a new 1600cc that currently has about 40k on it. The gearbox was replaced with a 1967 Karman Ghia transaxle with taller gearing for the more powerful engine. Semperit tires in very good condition, new windshield, Car has been correctly converted to 12volt. The windshield wiper motor has a 12 volt armature. This Bug also has a Bosch 010 distributor with petronix, quick starts every time, all the time! This Bug was originally sold as a European delivery to Copenhagen and then shipped to Santa Barbara where it's been since 1964. This is a super nice driver with nice KYB shocks and upgraded sway bar. There is no play at all in the steering. This little guy feels stable and solid. I just replaced the front and rear bumpers with triple chrome bumpers, they look outstanding! I've had many Bugs in my life and this is without a doubt the best one ever! Very hard to part with this sweet car, but I have a few other classics that need my attention so this guy is going to some very lucky buyer, is it you? You'll also notice the look a like Saphire radio, This is a digital AM FM stereo that fits in without hacking the dash! It sounds great! I wouldn't think twice about driving this car cross country today, it's a good one.... There is one iddy bitty screw hole that is capped on the drivers door. I believe someone had a weird mirror there? at one time. Anyway I didn't want any body work so I plugged it, not very noticeable, see pictures. Bug has a real Hurst shifter with reverse lockout. This car has also always been adult owned. Locks up tight.I will cooperate with your shipper and make myself available  for pick up. The cost of shipping is your responsibility.
