1971 Volkswagen Westphalia campervan
The bus is a project but is mostly done. It needs a rebuild of the transmission(comes with 2 71 3 rib transmissions) along with some some small finishing work. Does not drive because the trans. New professional built engine.
This bus comes with a freshly built 1776cc with 0 miles and an electric ignition and alternator upgrade.
This bus comes with all the parts needed to finish it. You won't have to buy much if anything. It comes with many extra part doubles also easily worth $1000, probably a lot more. I had a parts bus with this so I have some extra stuff and new doubles I bought on accident, plus a $450 tow bar, a $300 bus cover, a $200 extra carburetor, extra mirrors, extra jalousie windows, a few extra lights, extra gauge cluster, extra rear hatch, an original am/fm radio, extra wiper motor/mechanism, and lots of other stuff I can't think of.
New engine 0 miles cost $4600
New German starter cost $300

New high performance clutch cost $300
New pop top canvas cost $300

New floor and some wood paneling
Refurbished original camper interior
Comes with rare kids cot and upper cot in the pop top
Comes with rare back hatch screen
The body is ok but it does have bondo. It's not a perfect bus but I'm not asking 40k either. It looks fine at a distance but up close the flaws are more obvious. All the doors open and close well and while definitely not a show car it would make a good driver.
The interior was in good shape, so I had no need to recover the camper seats(zbed and jump seat). The floors were redone, some of the wood panels were redone, the best quality possible oem style curtains were used, the cabinets were cleaned up and refurbished. The fridge and sink were removed, but I used the spice rack and swing out tray off it to begin to build an unfinished cabinet in place of the fridge. The front seats need new covers, the passenger is ok but the driver seat is torn up. New under seat rubber mats were installed. All the glass is in perfect shape with no cracks and the jalousie windows have the screens and work perfect. The kids cot and upper cot are in good shape.
You can't drive it home but I can tow if it's not too far or you can too as it comes with a tow bar.
To run and drive it needs 3 things basically
1. A rebuilt transmission (again it comes with two 1971 three rib transmissions that can be rebuilt)
2. Engine electrical, engine fuel lines, and turn signals and head lights need to be plugged in(pretty easy)
3. Steering wheel needs to be removed, a different steering tube and keyed ignition needs to be installed( I have the part and everything will work off one key like it's supposed to). It's all one piece and just slides over the the steering bar really easily, however the corresponding wires will have to be installed in the dash. It's not that tough since the old piece is still there and you'll just have to make sure the same wires are plugged into the same spots.
Do all this and you will have a reliable daily driver with 0 miles on the engine and trans that you can take camping.
$14,000 or $9000 without the engine, clutch, and starter.
Please ask any questions before purchase. I'm happy to answer anything and can send more pictures if needed.
