1931 Ford Model A Deluxe

This is an exceptionally good running car. It starts right up, with a perfect idle and runs strong with good compression on deceleration. It was my Covid lockdown project. I purchased it to occupy my time during the pandemic. I continued to restore and upgrade it, and in so doing, have invested a great deal of money that I can't possibly recoup. I really didn't need another Model A, but it was a good distraction for me. I'm listing it at NO RESERVE, so the winning bidder is going to get a very good deal. Please read on to see all of the brand new parts and work that has gone into this car. The front end was completely rebuild with a new front spring & shackles, king pins, spindle bearings and races, drag link, pitman arm, tie rod, shocks, brake linings, rebuilt backing plates, rebuilt steering column. New steering wheel and timing levers. New chrome shift lever and emergency brake lever. Trans tower was rebuilt, distributor rebuilt, rebuilt starter and bendix. Zenith carb rebuilt with new gas lines and sediment bowl, gas tank flushed, new gas gauge, restored speedometer, Nu-Rex electric wiper, new Sparton horn, new cowl lights, Bright LED Headlights, new water pump, Excellent interior with all new Deluxe Chrome crank and door handles and escutcheons, new floor boards throughout, new battery and battery holder. Complete New wiring harness throughout. New Stainless rear bumpers, and outside door handles. Steamer trunk is included. Very straight and solid frame. Body and fenders will need work and paint to make them show quality, but it is currently an acceptable "driver". All windows roll up and down effortlessly and the glass is excellent throughout. The car tracks perfectly straight with a firm positive feel at the wheel with no shimmy or wandering thanks to a totally rebuilt front suspension, steering box and perfect alignment. The new rear shocks have not been installed as of this writing but are included. The 4 shocks and links cost over $1100. I'll try to get them installed before the listing ends. The front bumper has major blemishes in the chrome and the paint job has a lot of imperfections. The front brake shoes are new but I did not have them radiused to the drums so they pull to the left upon light braking. This does not happen upon heavy braking. This should go away as they become seated over time. At some point in the past, the original engine was swapped with one from a 1928 Model A. As such the VIN assigned by California upon arrival here is that of the Murray Body Number. It would be possible to lift the body from the frame to get the original VIN, but I didn't go to that length. Suffice to say that this is not a numbers matching car. The brakes work very well but the brake rods rattle. I replaced the retracting springs but it didn't eliminate the rattle. Other than that, it is a very quiet ride due to a firewall insulator and Dynamat inside the doors. The top material is in good condition with no leaks.
