1986 Ford Capri. YB Cosworth Turbo
This is / was my Baby i have had the car since 2008. it used to be a standard ish laser. Parked in a garage since 1996 iirc (tax disc is still around) I never got around to doing anything with it until i was offered a well known YB Turbo monster that was wrighten off after a crash so i bought that and put all the good bits onto this car :) the car has not had tons of welding. all the sills and floors are original 100% and rock solid! I am told that the laser was crashed back in the 80's and re shelled and that would account for its ace condition and lack of rust! there is lots of history for the car i think there is a Full service history up until it was parked up. it showed the mileage at the time to be around 36k and it still had 3 of its orignal tyres on!
Specification.
All removed from the Donor car i bought. piles of paperwork for it and a well known carYb Cosworth 2. 0 376bhp 200 Block Rolling road print out but it has been set up better since then and had new sensors and fuel pump. fueling is spot on and it feels faster now so around 400hp. Engine was last rebuilt around 10. 00 miles ago from what i can work out. i have pictures of it in bits. and a invoice somewhere to. it has forged mahle pistons. steel headgasket. studs instead of head bolts and a few other bits i am told. Body Condition.
Body wise this is very good! it has a few tiny bubbles but nothing bad! it has had work in the past and its not a concorse car but its also not a rotten pile of junk! hardly any (if any must check i have not done any for sure) welding has been needed. sills all A1 chassis legs and floor all good. Paint work is to a good standard. again not a show stopper but polishes up very very well! looks to have original panels all round appart from the bolt on ones that were fitted from the donor car.
Mechanical Condition.
All seams very good. no knocks or bangs. pulls to the red line hard as hell like nothing i have ever driven before in the dry last summer it did a 0-60 of just under 5 seconds on my friends timing box! (i have a M5 the capri is faster. ) Feels tight to drive on the road! Get the occasional puff of smoke on the over run or changing gear but thats quite normal for a YB valve steam seals dont seam to last that long! Very slight piston slap when cold. goes totaly when warm (again normal for a YB with forged pistons) Uses no water. Oil changed about 4k ago so due again soon. rear breaks overhalled for the last mot. even passed on emisions! holds good oil pressure 15-20 when warmed up on tickover
Paper work.
Piles of history. all handbooks old tax discs ect even a ford service book stamped up until it was parked up!! Managed to loose the V5 somewhere in the last few years but i have a new keeper half (that i just taxed it with) and a clear HPI check. winner will be given a invoice and i have photo ID so no worries there! am also happy for the winner to pay a £200 deposit and ill send off for a replacement V5 and collect / pay when it arrives (norm 2 weeks) I also have a huge pile of invoices / paperwork / magazine feature / and a trophie that the donor 2. 0S car won a few years ago!

Reason for sale.  
I just dont use it any more. no real spare time so no need for it :( it was my Dream car and i have owned it now so its time to move on! I had actualy had a deal with a friend on a MK1 mexico but i bought it back off him as in his words its to fast to use as a daily driver (and thats from a Pro stock car driver) this is fast! it weighs just under a Ton empty in the dry it IS Supercar fast it was faster off the lights 2 times in a row Vs a F430 having said that its happy to potter around in shopping mode if you can stop yourself from going flat out!

A quick video of it. sorry for the poor sound the camera is useless and was ratteling about in it stand! as you can see its wet and the driver took it very easy (not me officer ;) when it goes past the bmw its in 4th gear so you get a idea how much power is there and how easy it spins up the wheels! its hard work in the went but in the dry or on a track its so easy to drive!
