1968 Dodge Dart

This 1968 Dodge Dart two-door hardtop has had a rotisserie refurbishment and modified as a Hemi Super Stock LO 23 tribute. Powered by a 426 ci Hemi V 8 paired with a TCI three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in red with yellow stripes over a black interior. (stripes & stickers & lettering are all vinyl & are removable). Equipment includes dual four-barrel Holley carburetors, a cross-ram intake manifold, coilover front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, subframe connectors, a custom fuel cell, a roll bar, Corbeau leather seats with racing harnesses, Lexan windows, Wilwood front disc brakes, American Racing wheels measuring 10″ wide at the rear and 4.5″ at the front, and Mickey Thompson tires. Much of the work was carried out by Bones Fab of Camarillo, California. This modified Dart is registered for street use in California and is now offered with an indoor car cover, service and build records, and a clean California title.

Car was refinished in red with yellow stripes, while “Hemi Power” graphics adorn the doors, “Dodge” lettering is on the quarter panels, and stickers from component suppliers are located elsewhere on the exterior. The front fenders and the black lift-off hood are made of fiberglass and that the rear wheel arches have been adapted to accommodate rear tires housed within mini-tubbed wheel wells. American Racing Torq Thrust D 15″ wheels measuring 4.5″ wide at the front and 10″ wide at the rear are mounted with M/T Sportsman 26×7.5 front and M/T ET Street 315×60 rear tires. Braking is handled by Wilwood front discs and rear drums, and the car is fitted with a line-lock device. A Control Freak coilover front suspension and a tubular K-member with rack-and-pinion steering have been installed. Corbeau front bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and are equipped with red G-Force Racing Gear four-point harnesses, and the cabin is finished with black carpeting and trim. Equipment includes a Flaming River tilt steering column, and Lexan side windows with straps replace the window-crank mechanisms. The radio, heater, and rear seat have been removed. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts Auto Meter Sport Comp II instrumentation composed of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10 k-rpm tachometer, and gauges monitoring voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The 426 ci Hemi V 8 has 10.5:1 compression, aluminum cylinder heads, a factory-style cross-ram intake manifold with Holley 4235 and 4236 carburetors, a Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, Johnson Lifters hydraulic roller tappets, and an MSD ignition system. The car runs on pump gasoline, and air cleaners rather than the pictured open velocity stacks have been used for street driving. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TCI-supplied 727 three-speed automatic transmission, which is equipped with a 4000-rpm-stall converter and controlled by a Winters Performance Products Side Winder shifter with a reverse-pattern manual valve body.
