1948 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible
Here is a very rare restoration project. or a prime candidate as a high end street rod. Very few cars survive the rust that we get here in the Midwest. so this is an exception the rule here. This car was part of a 40 year old collection of Town & Country autos and is one the best unrestored body I have seen. The car was previously bought as a restoration project. as the owner had pasted away. I have owned this car for a number of years now and I have too many projects. too little storage. and not enough time!!! As the pictures show there is only surface rust. The undercarriage is surface rust only.
I have been collecting parts for this car. and have hung all the sheet metal to show it as a complete vehicle.
It does have a new set of Denman wide whitewall tires on it. They are several years old and are like new. It is minus the original engine / transmission (see paragraph below). front bumper. grill and chrome. The glass is in decent shape with the exception of the vent windows…starting to yellow at the edges and the back window does have a crack in it.
The convertible top is in good shape. but needs TLC at the rear windows.
I have original front seat base and there is also an extra set of seats for a coupe that go with the car all of which need restored.
I do have a complete 8 cylinder engine / transmission and a set of Kelsey/ Hayes wire rims for an additional fee if desired. Contact me for pricing if interested.
