Driving:
This car runs and drives great. It's a blast to drive. This is not your typical Bradley GT II. If you have been looking for a well-done GT II, this is it. Gull wing doors! Very reliable.
It has about 1,600 miles on the restoration! There are literally hundreds of new parts on this car. This Bradley GT has undergone a very extensive nut and bolt restoration. More than $40,000 in receipts come with the car. Everything imaginable was upgraded or fixed when the car was restored. Very detailed records come with the vehicle, including a journal for the restoration and many pictures.
For example: Frame off restoration, literally.
The interior was professionally restored. The engine and transmission were rebuilt professionally The suspension and brakes were rebuilt and improved with disc brakes and stiffer suspension The car was painted The undercarriage was redone - the floor pans look like new! The electrical was redone New gauges New stereo New fuel lines New two barrel carb New fuel pump Etc!!This Bradley may very well be the nicest Bradley GT II out there, or at least one of the nicest. If you like rare and unique, this is the one for you.
Couple odd things: Turn signal doesn't always function. When you turn the headlights on, the stereo screen flashes and goes off.
Bradley GT II general info:
In 1975 industrial designer and former Shelby American employee John Chun designed a new car for Bradley that would be called the Bradley GT II.
The GT II was described as a "Luxury Sports Car Kit" in its knock-down form, although it could be had as a turn-key car as well. Even though still based on a VW Beetle chassis, the GT II was a much more sophisticated vehicle than the earlier GT.
New features included true gull-wings doors with frames, sliding safety glass in the doors and interior door releases with gas struts, a lower sill to ease ingress and egress, improved bumpers and steel reinforcing in the roof. The retractable headlamps were now electrically driven. The interior was much roomier, with custom seats able to comfortably accommodate passengers over 6 feet in height. Instrumentation was provided by a set of VDO Jet Cockpit gauges.
Development of the GT II cost approximately US$1,000,000.
The GT II was finally released in November 1976. The car was later offered in one Special edition the Solid Gold Series 14000 G Limited Edition. The GT II would also become the basis for Bradley's electric GTE.
A total of 500 GT II cars are believed to have been built.
No returns. No warranty. "As is." Deposit of $500 must be received within 12 hours of auction end via Paypal. Balance is due via wire transfer or cash in person within 48 hours of auction end.
