Relisting again because tkaeser decided after he bought it, he did't want it. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF ACTUALLY BUYING THE CAR!! For those of you who think tkaeser is a "fantom bidder", please refer to the feedback I left him. Up for sale is this very heavily optioned, 68 k actual mi, 1978 Lincoln Town Car. This car is a time capsule! The center seat belt in the back seat still has its original plastic around it from the factory, and has never been used! The original Michelin spare tire, appears as if it has never been out of the car in it's life, let alone used. The original sticker is still on the tread! The original jack appears to have never been removed from the car as well! The owners manual, warranty card, and original key code tin are present. All the glass is date coated original to the car, and in perfect shape. This car is loaded with every option available on a Town Car in 1978, except CB radio, and moon roof. It has auto dimming and auto lamps. Both will work once I replace the faulty dimmer switch, which I am waiting on to come in. The AM FM Quadrasound 8 track stereo works excellent, including the 8-track player. The speakers sound like they've been hardly used, and do not have any crackling or distortion to them. All electric windows and seats work properly. The automatic temperature control works great, the heater blows hot air, and the air conditioner, blows ice cold, out the proper vents! Electric trunk opener works. There is also a built-in universal transmitter garage door opener, that has to be programmed by the dealer. Not sure what your local Lincoln dealer would say if you took it in there, but when you push the button the little LED light lights up. The cruise control also works great, and maintains speed. So far the only electrical options that I can find that do not work, is the Cartier clock, and the electric antenna. This Lincoln has the optional 460 CID, and it runs and drives excellent! It is undergone a recent tune up and carb kit. This car runs so quiet and smooth, that when I was sitting at the first stoplight, I thought the car had died! It is also in my belief that it still retains the original motorcraft stamped, (not ink printed), AC belt. The brakes have recently been gone through, and a new master cylinder was installed. The transmission shifts perfectly! The original Cream paint is in very nice shape, that still shines very nicely! Yes there is a chip or two here and there, but it is almost 44 years old. Underneath a couple of the paint chips surface rust is starting. THIS IS ONLY SURFACE RUST!! Pictures are included. I could have spent about 10 minutes with some touch up paint and remedied all these problems. However, if you read my feedback, you will find that honesty is my policy! I want the customer to know exactly what they are buying. The floorboards and trunk floor are also very solid. Much of the car retains its original undercoating. The frame is solid, with surface rust only. The only spot of actual rust on the car is a spot below the trunk lid in front of the weather stripping. This would be a very easy fix right now, because it is not in the lip where the weather stripping connects. Picture included. The trunk of this car is clean enough to eat off of! The landau top is in next to perfect condition with only one small crack, The bottom trim piece around the landau top is fading a bit as well (picture included). The chrome shines very brightly as well. The Light Cordovan leather interior, is this next to perfect as possible! There is very minimal wear to the front seat, and the back seat looks like it's never been sat in. All the leather upholstery is as buttery soft as the day it rolled off the assembly line! There are no cracks in the dash whatsoever, and the headliner is in perfect condition. The only faults the interior has, is the driver's vanity mirror door come off, and is in the glove compartment, and both reading lamps in the opera windows are missing their lenses. The carpet is also perfect in the Lincoln. This is a very quality Lincoln that any Lincoln enthusiast would be proud to own! If there are any other pictures you would like to see, please do not hesitate to ask.I do allow ample time for pickup, HOWEVER FULL PRICE MUST BE PAID WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE AUCTION ENDING! Thanks!
