This beautiful example is finished in spotless BMW Henna Red (Hennarot – code 052) and the paintwork simply gleams with a deep glossy shine. Owing to BMW's factory hollow cavity preservation treatment there is no rust or corrosion whatsoever and all panels are original. straight and damage free. All exterior trim. glass and lights remain in excellent order and the extensive original chrome brightwork has a glorious mirror finish. Minor scuffs to the chrome on the driver's door frame trim and a tiny blemish on the front bumper are visible upon close scrutiny only. The engine bay is an absolute delight in its incredible detailed presentation with all factory plates and stickers confirming the true correct identity. The epitome of first class automotive engineering. beautifully preserved in this example.
INTERIOR
The uncompromising. driver orientated. ergonomically designed cockpit in this BMW 635CSi feels as fresh now as when it was the flagship piece in many a 1980's BMW dealership. The sculptured and contoured black leather interior is beautifully clean and free from wear. Only very faint age related veins in the leather can be seen on the front seats and the rear bucket shaped seats are wonderfully factory fresh. Only an indistinct crease to the fabric on the sunroof section of the headlining prevent the term flawless being used. The dashboard is completely free from any cracks and all incorporated switches and functions are intact and operate as they should. although the on-board computer does not operate fully. The check control panel boasts a full complement of LED lamps. exactly as BMW intended. The factory original Blaupunkt New York SQR05 stereo cassette remains in place and the fully operational Blaupunkt BEQ-S2 Graphic Equaliser protrudes from the dashboard in a delightfully 1980's fashion. Wonderful.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary and time proven BMW six cylinder inline engine needs little introduction. Fitted with the Digital Motor Electronics grid controlled ignition and fuel injection. the power delivery is superbly effortless and smooth. The power output of 218bhp and 228lb/ft of torque propels to car through 0-62 in just 9. 0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 137mph. The four speed overdrive-type automatic transmission delivers precise and timely changes up and down the range and compliments the powerplant perfectly. The ultimate driving experience.
WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The light alloy BMW cross-spoke wheels are simply pristine with absolutely no lacquer peel and only minimal tiny parking scuffs visible upon inspection. These beautiful wheels are wrapped in quality Michelin 240/45/ZR415 tyres with masses of tread remaining. The anti-lock braking system with sensor and wear indicator brings this true performance contender to a straight and assured halt.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 17th August 1983 by BMW Main Dealers First Front Garages of London to first owner Mr G Gave. A further four keepers have cherished this incredible example throughout its mere 59. 17 miles. The service booklet is fully stamped up to a mileage of 51. 33 whereupon the car was put into storage. The previous owner acquired the vehicle in October 2011 and has embarked upon a gentle re-commissioning process as a preventative measure to ensure paramount mechanical excellence. The original BMW Owners Information clip wallet houses all the original service and handbooks and even the drivers aid pamphlets and point of sale literature. In addition. the stereo and graphic equaliser user guides and technical booklets are present. This vehicle is a must have for any individual wanting an unmolested and beautifully preserved classic BMW. truly magnificent.
