1980 Jeep Willys for sale
Current customer rating:
NOTE: This Jeep was manufactured in 1990, e Bay would not allow me to enter the VIN so I had to list it as pre 1981. Please fix this e Bay.
The story as I understand it:
In 1944 the US Army contracted with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan to make Jeep Willys so we did not have to ship them there during the US occupation of Japan. These were made into the 90's and few have been imported to the US. Built with the finest parts - Dana front and rear ends, grade 8 bolts, Mitsubishi Turbo Diesel, 24 v. Starts immediately, runs fantastic. Odometer is in KM, it has about 46,000 miles on it. Was owned by the President of the Japan Jeep Club. Right hand drive, which is very simple to drive. Will go 55 mph no problem. Custom seat work for taller driver (I am 6'4") but my wife drives it often as well. 2 issues that I know of. Rubber dust boot on passenger side front axel needs to be replaced. Brakes need to be bled, when stopping hard she will pull to the right. I am going to try to get to it. It is very rust free for the age but has some under the door on the drivers side that a bodyshop treated and covered with a black stripe, but you can see it is coming through. You should get this taken care of right away to keep from there being an issue in the future. I can send pictures from underneath, it looks great! I have a bra top and new full enclosure.
