A delightful early 20 hp. full of character and charm. with various early features. such as straight-sided tyres. ‘(twin spares). V' windscreen. RB 50 headlamps. etc. etc. The car is in sound. correct condition. and is excellent mechanically. after expenditure of £89. 00 on work including a comprehensive engine overhaul. new cylinder block. new road springs & shackles. rebuilt front axle. and all manner of other items. Just 1. 00 miles have been covered since this work. which is all documented in the invoices included with the car.

The Colling family were well-known & well-respected in the national & international horse-racing world. George Colling trained Nimbus V winner of the 1949 2000 Guineas (jockey Charlie Elliott) & the Epsom Derby (this event is also famous for the 1 st ever photo finish to separate the front 3 runner!) Nimbus V was bought by Henry Glenisters as a gift for his wife Lilian Marion Glenisters. The bloodline of Nimbus' sire -Nearco - can be found in several legendary racehorses. namely Northern Dancer. The Minstral. Mill Reef. Arkle & Nijinsky. In 1963 Nimbus retired to Japan as part of a Thoroughbred Stud and lived until 1972.
Sadly Henry Glenisters had financially over-reached himself and was found in his car having taken an overdose of Oxalic acid.
George Colling also trained “Wilwyn” which in 1952 was first past the post in the Washington DC International.
His father. Robert Weston Colling was also a jockey/trainer having had his first win in 1889 at Gosforth Park whilst riding “Montaigne” – the identity of which was questioned and later shown to be the horse “D'orsay”! In the 1950 s GA 6 was an exhibit in the A W F Smith Motoring Museum in Dargate. Mr. Smith didn't just show his collection he particpated with his cars in many in Rallies & Trials throughout the UK.
