"No Reserve"

I welcome & urge viewing of this Lanchester before the end of the auction to satisfy yourself prior to bidding

Here I have for sale a very rare survivor from the Lanchester Motor Company.  Registered in August 1935 this 10 horse power four door saloon model was built  between 1932 & 1936 with 12. 50 being produced.

This is an unfinished project which needs putting back together. nbsp;an interior re-trim and careful re-commissioning before going back on the road. however. the engine has been overhauled and is running & driving very well on a recent test.

The engine is a 4 cylinder 1200cc overhead valve unit mated to a 4 speed "Wilson" pre-select gearbox which is selecting and pulling well. The rod brakes. including the handbrake. are also working well but only tested briefly. The car has recently been fitted with a new fuel tank and lines.

The chassis is in very sound order as are the running boards. All 4 doors are very sound and close well with good shut lines as does the bonnet & side panels and all appear rust free. The wood frames also look very solid.  The rexine roof requires complete replacement as can be seen in the photos and the car is missing its rear window. the nearside rear glass is not fitted but supplied. The paintwork is poor & patchy all over & needs repainting or use as is (was originally Maroon/Black)

The engine starts promptly and runs very well and does not emit any smoke. the exhaust is blowing in 2 places and will need replacement. the cooling fan is supplied but not fitted.

The electrics have seen work on the wiring and the dynamo is showing as charging on the ammeter. The only electric items working on the car are the starter. dynamo & dashboard lights so a bit of work is needed on the lighting and accessories (side lights & wiper motor are missing).

The interior needs work on both front seats as can be clearly seen in the photos. however there is a 3m x 2m Red leather hide supplied for re-trimming. the rear seat is good.  The headlining is in good order. there are no carpets fitted and several interior trim strips need refitting but appear to be all there. All 4 door cards have been recovered & fitted. There are 2 boxes of parts with the car but I can't guarantee it's all there.

Paperwork for the car consists of the V5C which shows the original number BOE 407. which is transferable. an original parts catalogue which will be helpful for tracing replacement parts & a photo copy of the vehicle handbook.

You can fully restore to its former glory or with re-trimming and re-commissioning use as is.

Please be fair to myself and others by bidding to buy & not to negotiate a lower price than bid when you see it!!

This is a genuine "No Reserve" auction starting at 99p. The highest bidder wins.

Please see my payment conditions. If you can't complete the sale within 10 days from end of auction please do not bid.

I can be contacted to arrange viewing & to answer questions on 07786 856606.

Good luck!
