Current customer rating:
3 Owner 1966 Mustang Coupe "C" code 289 car. I'm at a crossroads with this car. It's such a cool old original car that I don't want to ruin that by putting a bunch of aftermarket components on it or cutting it up to make a fastback. So I'm going to offer it up for sale before I start changing the car. This way the next owner can do whatever they please with it.
This car is so solid original and complete it's the perfect candidate to either restore without paying crazy amounts of money for replacement panels and purchasing new parts.
Or drive it as is. Engine,Original engine was removed and professionally rebuild. Receipt is in pictures. This was done at a cost of $5600.
There are less than 1000 miles on this rebuild.Engine runs excellent at idle and cruising speed. Stumbles a bit when your more than 75% throttle so it does need some fine tuning. I was just going to take off the original 2 bb setup and either put on a 4 barrel ( I have a 4100 autolite and 1965 289 4 barrel intake). Trans:Original and shifts great.Rear:Original, smooth and quiet. Open differential. Tires:New Exhaust:New Fuel Tank:New. Trunk area:In great shape with light surface rust. Original trunk mat is in place but is so brittle that it keeps breaking when you try to move it and handle it. Body/Paint:This is one of the best original bodies that I have come across. There is a light crease in the lower 1/4 on the driver side. At some point the car received a coat of paint over the original. When I buffed the paint you can tell where there are original sections of paint in some of the areas. Being a southern car the paint probably got baked/faded. Not sure when the second coat got applied but it was obviously years ago. This was not a total repaint. There are some of the original quality paint stampings under the hood in the engine compartment area. Also in the front of the inside fender well there is still the V 8 marking from the assembly line.If you purchase and decide to do a total restoration your body guy will love you for this car!Interior:Carpet and driver side seat need attention. Everything else is in excellent original condition. All Gauges/lights work. Heat works. Unfortunately the radio doesn't.I will work with international buyers as well. If you are willing to set up your own transportation/shipping.
Funds must clear before car leaves property.
