1977 Cadillac Sedan DeVille D'Elegance

1977 Cadillac Sedan DeVille in good running condition for sale.  Needs some cosmetics and TLC given the 230,000 miles on the odometer, but more than useable as is.Owned for the last 20+ years by a career mechanic with more than 60 years of experience, it's been in the family since 1978.  It was purchased by the current owner's brother at that time with approximately 6,000 miles on the clock, spent a couple years in Reno, NV before spending most of its life in California since.  Most of the 230,000 miles are highway miles done between Reno and Los Angeles.  The current owner inherited the car in 2001 when his brother passed away.The Good:Runs strong and smooth, the transmission fluid is red and clean.A/C recently serviced and blows ice coldStarts right up, has always passed smog check in CA without issueNo blue smoke, consumes oil at about a quart every 1000 miles which is not excessiveNew exhaust system 2015New shocks 2015Rear main seal recently replacedHeadliner and drivers seat re-done in 2003/2004New power steering box 1/2021All new rotors, drums, and pads 2016 - Back brakes have 95% life, front pads show 50% life remainingNew rear axles 2016Comes with car cover and another water pumpNew rear main sealRear taillight filler panels are in good shape (already replaced)Tires are in good shape with plenty of wear remainingWould make a great car to slowly restore or resto-mod as it runs and drives and has good bones for modification.The Not-as-Good:Vinyl top was redone 2003/2004 and despite better materials, it's now showing some rust bubbling underneath, particularly at the C-pillarsSome plastic interior components on the door panels are brokenDrivers seat is slow to move - likely needs to be removed and have the mechanism lubricatedTrunk automatic lowering motor is inoperative - it's in the lowered position already, so you just have to close the trunk harder than you originally would've.  Trunk warning light occasionally comes on indicating the trunk is open when it's closed, you may need to open and close the trunk again to clear the light.Front filler panels under the headlights have failed, though the lower fender panels are in good shapeThis is the last of Carl's cars I've helped him sell over the past few years - I'm selling the car through my account (since he's in his late-mid 80's), so you'll be able to deal with me throughout the transaction but you're also more than welcome to call and talk to him on the phone, just send a message and we'll set up a time.  In person inspections are also welcomed and encouraged!Many more pictures available - if there's something you'd like to see send me a message, I should also be able to send a Dropbox link as well.
