History

Delivered new to Dr Jurgen Jopp of Berlin on February 4 th 1992. this left-hand drive 348 came out of the factory painted stunning Giallo Fly with Nero leather interior and matching carpets. Supplied through Mellin Sportwagen Gmb H. the Ferrari Main Dealer in Berlin. chassis 92867 is one of the later 348's that benefitted from improved Bosch Motronic M 2. 7 engine management (replacing the earlier M 2. 5 version).

Imported to the UK via Brian Wiggins of Bramshaw Garage (Bournemouth) in 1998. this matching numbers 348 ts is offered complete with all the correct handbooks and manuals including the original stamped service booklet plus a file of associated documentation.

Currently reading 17. 51 miles. this combined with the 29. 58 km covered on the original odometer (changed for a mile version but still retained with the car - see photo ) equates to a total mileage of 35. 37.

The MOT runs to 9 th August 2014 and the car went through its last test with no advisories. The road tax expires on 31 st August 2014.

Condition

The car is presented to standard specification with the exception of a recently fitted sports exhaust and stereo head unit.

Exterior

The Giallo Fly paintwork is very good throughout. There are a couple of minor stone chips on the nose and one or two age-related marks elsewhere but nothing out of the ordinary for a Ferrari of this vintage. The colour is consistent throughout and the body is free of corrosion. The correctly finished matt black skirts are excellent and give the car a more elegant profile than later versions with body-coloured sills.

Panel fit is perfect throughout and the car is as straight as you could hope to find.

The glass work is free of chips and scratches. the only minor imperfection being a very small clouded area around 5 cm across and 0. 5 cm along the base of the rear windscreen. The lights are all uncracked and the various grille elements found in the doors. nose. engine cover and tail lights are all excellent. straight and free of cracking. The wheels are in superb condition with no kerbing and are shod with matching low mileage Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

Interior

The Targa top is in very good condition with excellent uncracked rubber and perfect headlining. It fits perfectly and comes complete with the original Targa top protective travel case. The leather seats. dash. door trim. steering wheel and centre console etc. are all in superb condition throughout with no loose stitching or tears.

All the interior instruments operate and work as they should including the air-con and original Ferrari immobiliser. There is a little wear around the Targa top resting points behind the seats but the black carpet throughout the car is superb.

Mechanicals & Driving

We have done around 400 miles in this car on behalf of our client over the last few weeks. Throughout that period it has started first time every time and been totally reliable. The engine note through the sports exhaust is a delight and the car correctly comes up to temperature with all guages reading as they should and all warning lights on the dash going out soon after the car is fired up as normal.

The engine is free of any knocks or rattles and seems to be in a really excellent state of tune. It was serviced by Rardley Motors precisely 1000 miles ago in October 2011. The gearbox operates without fault as does the clutch. The steering is precise. direct and does not pull to either side under heavy braking. nor does it foul on full lock.

The engine bay is very smart with only a little of the usual flaking paint from the cylinder head casing detracting from its appearance. All the original VIN plates. tags. stampings and decals remain in place.

Overall this is a really smart 348 that's in superb running order and a great colour scheme.
