1979 Buick Riviera

For sale is a beautiful 1979 Buick Riviera. For those that don't know Rivieras very well, it is classified as a luxury sports coupe. This model is the first year for front-wheel drive and the year the durable 350 engine was used. The car is in fantastic condition. I am the 3rd owner and the car has just over 63,000 verifiable miles on it. It is a beauty and is mechanically outstanding. I would rate the chrome as a 10. I rate the paint as a 9 because there is some webbing on the hood. There is absolutely no rust on the body and to the best of my knowledge, no Bondo. The interior is a 10 overall with no rips and no cracks in the dash. This is a car that has had TLC all its life. I have owned the car for almost four years and can drive this car anywhere. It also shows well. All production elements have been maintained. Keynotes are as follows: the original floor mats are in the car and in Good+ condition. The eight-track player is in place and the sound system is great. The owner's manual and two GM service manuals come with the car. The A/C has been converted to R134a and blows cold. The auto-leveling system and cruise control operate as designed. The previous owner replaced all the bumper filler extenders and also (it appears) all vacuum hoses and water hoses were replaced. The engine compartment is clean and neat. My improvements on the car since I bought it are as follows: Coker Classic tires to match the original factory tires and new shocks on the front. New rear bushings when tires were replaced and the car aligned. A new radiator (I kept the original and buyer can have it), new battery, new thermostat, New Exhaust system. The Rochester 4 bbl cab has been professionally rebuilt and the ignition wires and spark plugs replaced. The transaxle system has been completely rebuilt. You can drive this car anywhere or show it without reservation. You get the feeling that you are driving a new Buick Riviera. There is no wind noise at highway speeds.
