Vehicle Details
This Jeep was one of the earliest known Southern California Jeep hot rod conversions ever made. The history and references to early hot rod influence is quite incredible - it belongs in a museum. It's also quite a wonderful history of an early grandfather, father, and son project and Jeep Americana. The family ownership of the Jeep started in 1968 until I purchased it 2021. It's titled and registered in Ca. Jeep is in amazing condition and all of it runs and operates as it should.
See the parts list and build, showing 450 horsepower that runs so smoothly and nicely. It's very easy and fun to drive by any family member.
It has a 4 speed with an overdrive leisurely getting speeds over 70 MPH.No issues with the Jeep. The Jeep has a Muncie Rock Crusher 4 speed, along with a desirable Warn Overdrive. This combination gives you a wonderful, low revving overdrive, and the option to split any gears along the way. It was a very desirable set up before 5 and 6 speeds conversions became widely available. In some ways, this is still a better combination as it allows for the gear splitting. It's hard to describe how nicely the Jeep drives and the suspension is perfectly capable of calm and comfortable street driving. There is minimal body roll, and almost no typical Jeep bouncy-ness. A weekend driver it truly is. Everyone wants to get in this thing and drive around. A 25 gallon gas tank provides the legs to get you as far as you'd like to go.
