(MG) - Austin Healey Sprite version, 1961
Only 4 previous owners - it's 60 years old! Very rare to find such an early car and one that is an Austin Healey Sprite not Midget. It is essentially the same as a frog eye with the curved doors side screens and dash all different to later models.This one is in its original colour of Highway Yellow. It is a rare colour and with less than 60 of this model remaining in the UK it is probably the one remaining in this colour. It has patina, chips to the paint etc, looks original finish rather than a recent glossy respray.Colour wise its quite a pale yellow, the i Phone makes it look a bit bright! But its nice and mellow, mellow yellow...There is an incredible amount of history with the car.Receipts and bills from the 60 s and 70 s, 2 binders full! Handbooks, brochures and more, and I have the new style V 5 in my name.Mot exempt, road tax exempt and cheap Classic insurance of course. The number plate is the original 3 letters / 3 numbers and the plates themselves are the 'ace peak' aluminium digits which are very expensive plates.There is no rust on the car, structurally or cosmetically and the paint has a great patina.It starts easily and drives very nicely it really is fun to drive and even though it has a 998 cc engine it seems very lively and responsive similar to my 1275 cc Midget.Gears select nicely, good clutch action, brakes work well including handbrake but they are drum brakes all round.Wheels are the original steels with AH chrome hubcaps, same as Frogeye Sprite.Interior is very good, excellent condition dash, nearly new black carpets and nice trim. A new steering wheel has been fitted too.The black soft-top is new and has never been fitted. There is a hood frame included.
