1980 Jeep CJ-5 Golden Eagle           No reserve auction!!   Runs Great and Fun to DriveA lot of new parts on it's way to be being built up.  I bought this Jeep from a rancher in Kansas.  It spent most of it's time in the barn and according to him usually only went out to get the mail occasionally, was just a side toy for him. He'd had it about 8 years and bought it from another rancher's family when he died.  That guy had some of the work done, but mostly untouched by the last owner  before I got it.   I've had it about a year, but have too many projects going to be able to finish this one.  Please contact me for better/more specific photos.  Happy to get on facetime, Zoom, whatever,  to get live video for you.  Most of the work done was completed by professional mechanics, still finding receipts etc.  The build sheet on the new rear end in on hand and happy to share. Here we go:This is how I got it.  As far as I know, an original Golden Eagle.  Paint and graphics look original.  There are a couple spots on the eagle where it's just starting to flake up.  304 V8 with 4 speed manual.  Headers, Holley carb,  and hi lift cam installed at some point.  Sticker on the side is from Johny's Offroad in Grove Oklahoma, assume it was done there.  Ran great when I picked it up, drove it the 250 miles home.  As shown, it has a newer soft top from "Best Top" with soft doors, not pictured is the bikini top that comes with it as well. Floor pan has a spray in liner throughout and looks to be in good condition.  New carpet kit and front seats.  I brought the uninstalled back seat home, but it was in really rough condition with original fabric and smelled like a skunk had it's way with it.  It was less expensive to buy a new back seat than to have it recovered, so I tossed it.  So presently....   No back seat.Mileage is a mystery.  Last owner had replaced the speedometer cluster recently and it showed 300 miles when I bought it and seemed to work fine on the way home.  He gave me the last gauge, which I still have that shows 11,363.  So obviously the old one quit working at some point.  The gauge installed shows 1,145 miles today, October 6 and I'm still driving it some, but the speedometer quit showing accurate speed etc around 700 miles.  I assume that there was an install problem with the new gauge, but I have not gotten around to addressing it.  In short, speedo doesn't work, brake and 4wd lights do, odometer is a question, and the fuel guage reeds about 1/4 tank lower than actual.  Temp gauge in cluster seems to fluctuate, but the original on the left side of the dash reads accurate.  There are a couple blisters in the paint on the front fenders below the "limited edition" decals, I tried to capture them in the photos, and there are is some paint cracking on the rear panel.  Limited photo space here, happy to send on more detailed pics as requested.  It does have a stereo/CD player installed, but no speakers attached.  Didn't matter to me, so hadn't touched it yet.  It powers up but...   Also a an aftermarket steering wheel, no horn button.  It will leave a couple drops of oil on the ground, but just drops.  Just being thoroughThat is basically how it was when I bought it.  Here is the list of things done since:New tires.  They don't have 200 miles on them yet.  Kumho Road Ventures, 32 x 11.5 R15sNew fuel tankConverted to new electric fuel pump with pressure regulatorNew master cylinderNew plugs and wiresNew Bilstein ShocksNew steering control armNew starterNew complete Dana rear end axle assembly from East Coast Gear Supply with disc brakes.  Off the invoice, "DET187S-16D Detroit locker Dana 44 30 spline - 3.73 and down"Well over $3,000 just for the rear end assembly plus the install.  Only issue has been getting the linkage to the parking brake right.  Still won't set very tight and needs somebody with more skills than I to tinker with it.I think I've covered just about everything.  I'm sure there are more questions so don't hesitate to reach out.  I will do what I can to answer them, get photos, and video to cover anything you might want.Aren't too many of these running around anymore in this condition. The Jeep is located in Pueblo, Colorado.   $500 deposit due within 48 hours of close of auction via paypal or applepay.  Local pick up only and willing to work with shipper etc on your arrangement, within 10 days of end of auction unless otherwise arranged.  Balance due in CASH at time of pick up, within 10 days of close of auction.  Clean Colorado title in hand. Thanks for looking and reading all this.  Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions
