Fiat 500 F 1970 Classic Excellent Condition Round Speedo for sale
Current customer rating: (109 votes ) based onFor sale is this truly stunning 1970 Fiat 500 F with the sought after round speedo.
She was originally registered in Padova, Italy, December 1970 and was imported to the UK late 2014 and registered with the DVLA in early 2015.
She is in excellent condition finished in baby blue with white interior.
The exterior is near mint. The paintwork is in excellent condition as is all the brightwork, only some chrome pitting on the rear number plate light cover and surface rust of the front quarter light trims. The wheels are in good condition and have the correct period tires. A stainless steel luggage rack with luggage completes the experience.
The fantastically stylish rosso interior with Bianco accents is in excellent condition throughout, all original spec, and finished off by the super rare aesthetically pleasing round speedo. The easy fold back roof is also in excellent condition. All the electrics work as they should and has recently had a new battery fitted (bosch). Only downside is 2 minor cracks in the steering wheel.
Mechanically she is spot on. She received a full engine rebuild (nearly all new parts, 499 cc) in 2020 along with a gearbox overhaul. The 4 speed shifts perfectly through all gears and has an excellent clutch.
The brakes are great and has light and balanced steering. No untoward creaks or squeaks from the suspension and it handles like an Italian car should.
The car is a blast to drive, starts easily, idles perfectly, and offers great expansive power from all of its 500cc!! It accelerates well and will happily cruise at 50/60 mph if required. She runs as well, if not better, than the day she came off the production line.
Although MOT exempt, she last had one in 2018 and passed with flying colours. The garage who carried out the engine work last year also did a maintenance check and confirmed all is in order.
As you can see from the MOT history she has done little mileage since 2015 due to being part of a small collection, always garaged. The mileage she has done has been summer fun and never in adverse conditions.
Like with most classic cars it would appear she has undergone a comprehensive restoration not so long ago. Upon inspection almost every nut and bolt looks to have been replaced along with a new wiring loom, wiper motor, steering joints etc. Unfortunately, there is little paperwork documenting this.
These little classics are appreciating in value year on year and finding them in this condition is becoming ever the rarer. With excellent UK parts available and a great club and following classic 500's are as popular as ever.
She is ready to go and enjoy many more top open, sun out, miles of smiles. She is delightfully characterful and puts a smile on everyone's face who sees her, a real head turner.
