1964  Austin Healey 3000Well, I see that at the moment there a ton of these on Ebay.  I am going to try and tell why you want this one!Numbers:  64HBJ7L25114   BMC-64  609601From front to rear…New front bumperNew front bumper over ridersNew head lamp ringsAll new bulbs and lamps from front to rearNew high flow aluminum radiator and capNew thermostatNew heating and water flow tubing everywhere    New water pumpNew beltServiced generator and starterNew distributor, wires, and points and plugsBoth SU carbs rebuilt/serviced by a specialist shop in Denver All points and contacts cleaned and polished on all switches and control boxes.New complete wiring harness from front to rear including the over drive harnessNew motor mountsRebuilt engine ( more on this later)Rebuilt transmission ( more on this later)Brakes completely serviced from front to rearNew voltage regulatorCompletely brand new interior (the best Moss motors sells) including Moss's most expensive convertible top.New wiper bladesProfessionally rebuilt SU fuel pumpNew fuel tank, sender, & capVery nice new music systemNew rear bumper over ridersAll new lamp lenses from front to rearNew battery switch in trunkNew trunk proper liningFive (5) new 60 spoke wire wheels top of the line from Moss motorsFive (5) new Sprint period and size correct tiresNew Top down rear coverNew Tonneau CoverNew dash pad coverRoyal purple break in oil.  500 miles ( I would run about another 500 and then change)All new front to rear stainless steel exhaust system and mufflers. All new aluminum patterned door shut face finisher pieces.OK – the engine. When I purchased this a restoreable project I was told that the engine had been rebuilt by a specialty shop in Jackson Wyoming.  There was no paper work to authenticate this so of course I was bit doubtful.  The oil pan had a few dents and dings so I ordered the cast aluminum some $500.00 oil pan from Moss to both replace the dented one and strengthen the block. To my great and happy surprise all the main bearing journals and rod caps were oozing white lithium grease and you could see new pistons!  The engine starts and ideals like a dream – very smooth acceleration and fantastic oil pressure and power.I was told the transmission was rebuilt by a specialty shop in California.  I have no proof of this other than it shifts very well and holds its gears.Ok, so that's drive It!Get in.Pull the choke out and twist (to hold it)Turn on the key.Wait for the SU fuel pimp to stop clicking.Press the start button.  (It will instantly start)Slowly ease in the choke until it is smoothly running.  Do not drive around with the choke on.Select your gear and be off!Find a nice curvy road and open her up.  The response and handling is fantastic.  Now go to one of the gears that the factory has allowed the over drive to function in and click the over drive switch.  The noise and RPM will instantly drop and you will be rolling along like you are in heaven.  You will never want to stop.  The car is truly Magic.Ok, this all sounds wonderful but there must be some ugly spots.  Sure enough.I am not the best car painter in the world.  I would give the paint between an 8 or 9.  BUT, the car comes with enough remaining paint to completely repaint the car almost twice over. There is a crack in the body filler (not a lot in the car) on lower right rear.  Easy to repair and re paint. After the installation of the new top the windows will need to be realigned to match all the new seals. Lastly – the car's home is a lofty 7276 feet in elevation – unless you live here as well, the carburetors will need adjustment when it finds its new home.  Free and clear title. And to the best of knowledge, that is it.Good luck bidding.     1964  Austin Healey 3000Many Thanks to Wayne Karberg for the fine Picctures!Austin Healey 3000.
