1967 MGBGT V8 COSTELLO ? GRAMPION GREY, RED LEATHER for sale

"COSTELLO CONVERTION" ?This may well be a Costello MGB V 8, the gearbox has an adaption plate used by Costello and there are very few MK 1 GT's with a V 8 fitted, it has the later recessed grill that was used, also the MOT's show the 3500 cc V 8 was in the car as early as 1985 and possibly before.Please note no reverse lights and narrow tunnel.First registered 20 th November 1967 just two owners from new V 5 shows 4 since 1977 however two owners are the same.
Much loved MGB V 8 owned by the same family for the last forty years a real time warp last on the road in 1989 it has been stored in the back family village garage showroom for thirty years. Dust covered had not moved in this time fortunately the engine was ran occasionally. A VERY SOLID BODYSELL WITH EXCELLENT FLOORS AND CASTLE SECTIONS AND JACKING PIONTS, VERY GOOD WINGS, INNER/OUTER SILLS, A/B POSTS, BOOT FLOOR, DOORS, TAILGATE, COSTELLO BONNET, ALL IN REMARKABLE CONDITION AND PIONTS TOWARD THE LOW MILEAGE BEING CORRET, HOWVER I CANNOT GUARANTEE THIS.THE LOVELY RED INTERIOR HAS SURVIVVED WELL WITH ONLY THE FRONT SEATS NEEDING ATTENTION, I WOULD USE A CONNOLISING KIT ON THEM TO BRING BACK TO A NICE STANDARD.I HAVE SPENT SOME TIME ON THE ENGINE MAILNLY REBUILDING THE CARBS AND SORTING OUT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM, THE ENGINE NOW PERFORMS LOVELY AND PULLS STRONG WITH A LOVELY EXHAUST NOTE AND A NICE STEADY TICKOVER. THE GEARBOX FUNCTIONS PERFECTLY WITH A POSITIVE ENGAGING OVERDRIVE. THE SUSPENSION PERFORMES WELL AS DOES THE BRAKES / HANDBRAKE.THE WONDERFULL V 8 OFFERS PLENTY OF GRUNT FOR SPIRITED DRIVING AND LAZY UNSTRESSED TORQUE BY THE BUCKET LOAD WHEN CRUISING WITH OR WITHOUT THE OVERDRIVE ENGAGED ....... OH YES, AND THAT SOUND TRACK .... HARD TO BEAT!( I HAVE MADE A SHORT VIDEO OF THE ENGINE RUNNING .... PLEASE ASK AND I'LL WHATS APP IT TO YOU )A RARE NEW / OLD STOCK COSTELLO BONNET COMES WITH THE CAR. IMO IT REALLY NEEDS AN EDELBROKE INLET MANIFOLD TOGTHER WITH A HOLLY 390 4-BARREL CARB FITTING AS IT WOULD TAKE AWAY THE NEED FOR THE RAISED BONNET AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SUBSTANTIALLY IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE.I HAVE THE MK 1 CHEOME BAR GRILL THAT COMES WITH THE CAR( REALY COULD DO WITH A PAIR OF K + N AIR FILTERS FITTING WITH THE S.U.'s IF RETAINING THE THIS SETUP )TWIN ELECTRIC FANSFITTED WITH A SET OF "V 8" ALLOY WHEELS WHICH CURRENTLY NEED A NARROWER PROFILE TYRE FITTING TO WORK OK, THERE IS A MULTITUDE OF CHOICE IF THESE ARE NOT TO YOUR TASTE.TO SUMMERIZE ....A RARE EARLY MK 1 BGT IN EVEN RARER GRAMPION GREY WITH RED LEATHER INTERIOR AND THE LOVELY EARLY UNSPOILT DASH STILL AS IT SHOULD BE. NOW FITTED WITH THE LOVELY ALL ALLOY "BUICK / ROVER" V 8 ENGINE THIS IS WHAT THE FACTORY SHOULD HAVE DONE BEFORE KEN COSTELLO DID! ALL ADD'S UP TO A FANTASTIC CLASSIC COMBINATION THAT'S HARD TO BEAT! .....
