The word “rare!” Is practically in every other classic car advert but I can safely say that my car here warrants that particular word hands down…My bug is super super clean this is one off the nicest bugs out there and the best ones have practically dried up! This is not a slammed turd this is ready to win shows…I have a bunch detailed pictures of the rebuild and start up and walk around videos for those purists out there…..enjoy the honest and thoughtful read…..Swedish import l.h.d Vw beetle 1967 rare one year model only in lotus white built on the 21st October 1966 with many recorded factory options from new installed….four m codes and one s code Wolfsburg birth certificate to hand stating to the fact that it's a full matching numbers car also. All original factory body panels, doors, etc.Factory fitted eberspacher heater fitted and fully plumbed in (this is still 6 volt so not hooked up but can be if desired) Factory fitted steering lock with dash ignition switch blank when was the last time you ever saw one of those!Old service interval stickers still in situ on the drivers door jam.Imported to the U.K. in 2016 and registered then…it had an article for the volksworld magazine in readers rides with an excellent double page spreed then again in 2017 with some additional updates….both magazines to hand.Previous owner to me used the car daily and was in the process of doing a body of restoration as the previous owner to him did some shoddy welding and bodge work! So I acquired the bug to take on the job and enlisted my best mate and well known guru in the vw scene mr Maurice Griffith to do a proper Wolfsburg factory welding job and full overhaul. With the body off The bug with respect was pretty straight and solid to start with it just needed the heater channel closing panels replacing (auto craft engineering ONLY panels are the best) both heater channel fabrication, running board panels, small areas of the inner front wheel well, rear bumper mounts, rear body to suspension mounts, inner front valance.(all inner panels painted for protection)The heater channels inners were that excellent once they were fully and properly welded up the heat that comes through again is like new from the factory….heat through the rear under seat kick panels heat through the front lower kick vents and the all important heat up through the dash vents for that much needed demisting of the foggy screen come winter time…The rolling pan still retains the factory floor pans and only needed both rear corners fabricating and the jacking points removed also a new frame head….then fully painted inc detailed 1500 gearboxThe rolling pan has had a new lime bug 4” narrowed beam fitted along with drop spindles, beam adjusters and lowered shox to give that slam look…new discs, callipers,Monroe air shocks are fitted at the back which can push the back end up 2” if desired this works off an air line so it's up to you if you want to fit a mini compressor tucked away inside.New brake pipe kit,4 brakes hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes etc fitted.Original dated sprint stars were refurbed and detailed fitted with phat and skinny tyres to add to the look with original caps to boot…New rubber body seal to pan then bolted all back up using new body/chassis bolts and fasteners.(heater channels and inner wheel wells fully painted to match).factory body panels. The factory fitted 1500cc engine had new barrel and pistons lapped in and a reground crank etc the top end tinware was re painted fitted with electric points, flame thrower coil, new dynamo,Webber ict dual carb kit,new exhaust etc.all upgraded to 12 volt now…new engine area fire boards and engine surround seals fitted. The interior was treated to a new oatmeal carpet kit and a reproduction rubber over mat kit which is the best option in my opinion also new seat covers and door panels all professional fitted all in mint condition…All new door and glass seals fitted and trim.Steering wheel and dash in mint condition see pik….Sweet body patina with some mild bruises we all love…The bug drives as good as it looks and everything works down to the all the side and main lights inc high beam, interior light, dash lights, indicators, horn, wipers, brake lights, number light and the front bumper spot light, electric washers….etc the bug drives perfectly starts and idles sweetly and brakes on the button….my only thing I would do to maximise the power is have the car rolling roaded as with all dual carbs its always best setting them up this way and you always gain more horse power regardless to that the car is very quick as it is but this way is maximises more power and petrol consumption…you all know by now that all classic cars are now tax and mot exempt so it's just insure and go…..classic dubs are a worthy investment at the moment and are only going up in value.I have more detailed pictures and videos for those that are further afield or you have no fuel!!!!
