I have owned this Triumph Spitfire 1500 for 20 years, since November 2000.It has historic status, so is road tax exempt.The car was restored to a good standard in 2016, short summary below:Lots of bodywork completed, the car was stripped to bare metal and any work needed was completed: including new floors, sills, wheel arches, boot variance, new wings and boot lid. Also repairs to the bonnet. New battery box and repairs to the bulk head. The car also had new windscreen frame and glass. New door skins fitted along with other minor door repairs, plus new door locks.The engine was also rebuilt along with the gearbox, electronic ignition is current fitted to the car (original points distributor included). It also has twin SU carbs, and a full system twin stainless steel exhaust.As with a body of restoration, all brakes, bearings, suspension springs and shocks were replaced.The car also had new seat foams and seat covers and carpet set.Lots of spares to come with the car, including a soft top and frame (it need restoring though, but the soft top hood has been in storage separate to the frame). Car has always ran well, and starts well. A new “larger” battery was fitted 2 years ago so that helps too.Hopefully the pictures show the level of work completed and condition of the car, there are still areas which can be improved as with most classics, but that's part of the pleasure of classics.Payment on collection (bank transfer only).
