Here we have a 1968 Volvo P1800s waiting to be restored to its former glory. Anyone that has experience of these stylish sports coupes knows that their number one enemy is rust. The good news is that this example is a genuine California car with very little corrosion. just a few minor areas on the external sills and a corner of one front floor pan. The main structure is all excellent. The paintwork is mostly original Volvo dark green but it really needs a respray. The seats are good and the carpets original. The clock and radio are missing from the dash. otherwise the car is complete. Being a 1968 car it still has the stylish chrome instruments of the early cars but also benefits from later brake upgrades and other features from later models. The car has been unused since 2002. but the engine runs beautifully with excellent oil pressure and the car can be driven. It could be used 'as is' with a little work on the brakes and some electrical gremlins sorting out. or as a rolling restoration. It would also provide a superb basis for a total restoration. Its a scruffy but genuine and very sound example of a fast appreciating classic that unlike so many rotten examples offered for sale. would be a very satisfying and enjoyable car to work on. All taxes have been paid and the necessary paperwork will be provided for straightforward registration in any European country.
