1971 Chevrolet C-10 NO RUST SHOW QUALITY PAINT LONGBED CUSTOM DELUXE

My classic car listings on eBay are designed to make a buyer as comfortable as possible with a sight-unseen purchase and leave no stone unturned. A factory big block C10 turned wicked highway cruiser...This '71 C10 Custom Deluxe left the factory with a big block 402, TH400 transmission, and positraction rear end. For its first 40+ years, this 'ol girl served its Minnesota owner faithfully and the truck was well cared for throughout those 115,000 miles or so. Since its restoration, another 5,000 miles or so have been put on the truck.Around 2015, a father/adult son team had visions of the best of both worlds: a sleeper/stock appearing '71-'72 C10, with a drivetrain that had fun power and real cruising capability. They heard this '71 was available for sale by the family of the owner, and quickly scooped it up. The new owners were impressed with the well chosen options this truck offered, too: power brakes (front disc standard in '71), power steering, front stabilizer bar, auxiliary springs, and the bright trim & better interior of the Custom Deluxe package. This was the perfect canvas to work with...The initial thought was to build the 402 that was in the truck, but Dad already had an engine freshly rebuilt he was anxiously waiting to install in the right vehicle: a semi-mild 468 big block with approximately 415 rear-wheel horsepower (dyno sheet included) and gobs of torque. Backed by a reliable Quadrajet carburetor and electronic ignition, it's the perfect power choice for a C10 and with reasonable compression, it runs well on premium pump gas. To back the big block, an equally tough, heavy duty 4L80E overdrive transmission was chosen to pick gears. The addition of an overdrive 4th gear makes choosing lower rear gearing an easy choice, because you can still cruise at 75 mph with reasonable RPM's. The transmission is also electronically controlled; the controller comes with the truck and plugs into the module tastefully hidden on the lower end of the engine compartment core support area. With this controller, YOU choose your shift points, and stiffness of the shifts. The transmission is also reportedly rebuilt, but I have no receipts. All I can say is I LOVE driving this truck. It's fun, just plain fun. It sounds fantastic, pulls you back in your seat, yet cruises at highway speeds SO WELL. This truck feels good on the road; it's smooth, and you can tell it's led an easy life. It's easy to drive with power brakes and steering, and it runs quite well on pump gas. It runs cool, and doesn't overheat. New tires were installed shortly after my purchase. There's nothing else I could ask for. Over this summer, I've driven the truck approximately 500-600 miles, and get compliments everywhere I go. It's been an absolute blast to drive.Mechanically, I believe the truck is reliable. Brakes are good, it runs well, shifts well, the front end seems in good working order, and lights/directionals/etc all work. However, please remember this is a FIFTY YEAR OLD TRUCK, and things can go wrong. Hoses break, things can stop working, so I always recommend looking a mechanical inspection before driving any distance. In addition to creating a powerful, yet drivable C10, the father/adult son team wanted the Dark Olive paint to pop again, so the decision was made to paint the truck. Together, they stripped the truck down, and painted it together, with SPECTACULAR results. I'm told from the son that the truck needed normal C10 replacement pieces...cab corners, and I believe one rocker were replaced. Notice, too, in the photos, it looks like a driver's side floor patch was also welded in. I believe the windshield has been replaced, but all other glass appears original. The truck also received new chrome bumpers and a set of new side trim. The paint and bodywork is now several years old and looks fantastic; as the photos show, nothing is popping or showing signs of poor workmanship. Can we take a moment and talk about the million-mile depth and gloss this Dark Olive paint has? The truck has been professionally polished to a swirl free finish, and it shows. It looks wet, the truck truly looks wet. I've included photos of the truck in various light sources to show off how incredible it looks. Inside, the truck is mostly factory original. It looks like the dashpad has been replaced, and the seat cover is a tastefully done Cheyenne trim cover that is installed well and looks right. As shown in the videos, the windows crank well, the radio works, the fan motor works, gauges work, directionals, brake lights, headlights, horn, etc. I could ramble on, but you are encouraged to watch the videos and look at the photos of this piece of history. A $500 non-refundable deposit and communication from the high bidder is due immediately at purchase. The balance is due in full within 7 days of the auction's end, paid via cashier's check (must be verified), bank wire transfer, or cash in person. Cashier's checks must be received prior to pickup, with 5 business needed after deposit for funds to clear. Cash or cleared wire transfer will allow the car to be released the same day.
