FOR SALE 1993 ROVER 820SLi  L REG MANUAL HATCHBACK NORDIC BLUE METALLIC 1994cc 16v PETROL  

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautiful classic in very good condition and well cared for throughout its life. I have owned it for 10 years and the previous owner (a friend of mine) bought it new (for over £20,000 back in 1993!)

It drives really beautifully and even the aircon works like a dream

I have all the MOT certs and throughout its life it has been used almost daily and has consistently covered around 4000 miles a year, enough to keep it healthy but not too much to kill it off

Neither I nor the previous owner are mechanics so all work has been carried out by local garages and mechanics. It has had regular servicing on the K Series engine and oil changes through its life (last oil change with head gasket at 105,000 miles)

I have finally upgraded to a MGZT-T and sadly I now feel its time for someone else to take over the stewardship of this vehicle who is perhaps more mechanically minded than me who could maybe bring it up to even better condition.

There are now only around 350 Rover 800s licensed for road use (all models) and I think only  4 of this SLi 16v model

Bodywork is really good with NO RUST to front or rear wheel arches!

Back and centre stainless steel exhaust

New clutch, ECU and Head Gasket in last 2 - 3 years

Excellent condition scuttle panel which I replaced a few years ago

4 good quality tyres with good tread plus full size spare

Aircon works brilliantly

Special Rover upgrade original alloy wheels in VGC

Original cassette radio (not coded) in excellent condition

I have owners manual, original sales brochures, all MOTs and loads of invoices

Both owners are non smokers so carpets and Velour seats are in excellent condition .

MAJOR WORK DONE RECENTLY:-

July 2021 new battery with 3 yr guarantee (£110)

I had the roof re-sprayed in 2020 as the lacquer was beginning to spot (£240)

May 2020 new ECU fitted plus coil, plug leads and other electrical parts (£250)

Feb 2020 new Head gasket, cam belt, alternator belt, water pump, oil filter, oil change (105,000 Miles) (£500)

new clutch and slave cylinder (82,500 miles) (£480)

I also had it undersealed in 2013

 New fuel filler pipe in 2014

2 ABS front sensors at 72000 miles

There has been a lot of other work to keep it running well including new exhaust manifold gasket (Aug 2021) Many other small bits and pieces have been done but I don`t remember it all

I also have a little spare paint left over from the roof spray

I have the V5 log book, 2 Keys present + an emergency one (I have an original fob but I stopped using it last year as the drivers door didn't unlock with it although with the key the central locking works fine on all doors)

This car is nearly 30 years old so inevitably there are a few not so good points to note

112,000 miles:

Dashboard warped / lifted as often happens on 800s

electric windows don't all work from all switches but do all work

beginnings of roof lining sag

broken clip on glove box

steering wheel a bit worn

Bumpers have a couple of small scuffs

I've just discovered it will need new rear brake pads very soon
