1979 Jeep CJ for sale
Current customer rating:
This is a restored 1979 CJ 7 Jeep that's in good shape and runs well. Some of its features include:- Howell EFI kit - 3' suspension lift- 31' Goodyear tires (It can fit up to 33' tires)- extended roll bars- custom steel doors with reinforced upgraded strikers (Best Top upper doors can be attached if desired) - Optima Yellow Top battery- Sport lights - Brush guard- original steel tub (no fiber glass)- clean title- recently passed California smog test I've enjoyed driving this Jeep and have gotten frequent compliments on it when I take it out. The Howell EFI is a really nice upgrade, so starting is never an issue. I recently had a pre-purchase inspection done and replaced both rear wheel cylinders and rear brake hoses, tightened everything up, and resealed the rear differential cover. I also had all the hoses coming out of the gas tank replaced as they were getting old and cracked--it now passes the California smog test with flying colors. All of the repairs were professionally done. Since I've owned it I've also done a few things on it myself. I extended the roll bar to cover the driver and passenger and raptor lined the extension. I also fabricated lower steel doors (using the frame of lower Best Top doors), that you can see in some of the pictures, and upgraded the strikers from the flimsy paddle style to beefier bolt strikers with new door handles--I also reinforced the bolt striker and tied it into the inner tub. It looks pretty nice. The engine was previously rebuilt and had around 8000 miles on it when I purchased it. I've put another 13,000 miles on it since then with regular oil changes. There have been no issues outside of the repairs I mentioned above. The paint is a beautiful emerald-like green. And it's held up pretty well although there are a few chips and scratches--it's not in showroom condition, but it looks good overall. The rims were painted black before I purchased it and some of that is chipping off. If I were keeping it, I would probably put new rims and 33' tires on it and I think it would turn even more heads. The spare tire is also the original standard size so it's primarily decorative currently. You're welcome to come see it in person if you're near the Bay Area in California. And I'm happy to assist in shipping it (making sure it's loaded properly, deciding on a shipping company, etc) if you can't pick it up in person. I'm including a couple of videos and am also happy to answer any questions.
