Taylors Garage offer for sale an original Factory V 8 MGB GT believed to be one of only 79 painted Black

Now completed after a very extensive and complete restoration we offer

This unique MGB GT V 8 with only 7 documented DVLC previous keepers one of whom was the well known musician the late Bob Fish of the 70's doo wop band the “Darts”

The last owner purchased the car from Bob Fish in 1998 used the car for a number of years, in 2003 decided with the help of his father to strip down the MG for a complete restoration.

This is where we became involved, father and son having dismantled the MG having bagged, labelled, wrapped and stored everything after many years decided it was too onerous a task, the skills and expertise of skilled restorers were required

Structurally very sound it was considered in view of the quality of restoration we would undertake

to replace

front and rear wings with “Heritage” panels along with inner and outer sills and a castle rail

Once fabrication completed shell stripped to bare metal and repainted in the original black, on return to workshops, front and rear suspension removed, dismantled and rebuilt,

brake pads, shoes, cylinders, callipers and suspension components replaced or refurbished as required

The original matching numbers V 8 engine dismantled examined rebuilt, gearbox likewise, clutch replaced.

Cooling system revitalised with re cored Radiator, new heater matrix fitted plus coolant hoses

New headlining and C post panels along with new door cards and a re-padding of seats completed the interior

A comprehensive detailed photo log accompanies the restoration

At Taylors Garage we have taken many more hours and spent much more than we will ever receive in return when we hand the keys to the new owner, however as enthusiasts we only have to justify the expense to ourselves.
