Clean Carfax Report

Since the legendary 300 SL of the Fifties, Mercedes-Benz' SL hasremained true to the original concept of a powerful, two-seater sports car withevery conceivable luxury feature and the added versatility of a removablehardtop converting the car into a snug coupe. The SL has been an overwhelmingsuccess, with no less than five generations produced over the past fifty years.Earning high praise when originally launched in April 1971, the W 107 SLremained in production for the next 18 years, evidence that Stuttgart'sdesigners had got it right. Nicknamed the Panzerwagen for obvious reasons, the W 107 saw the emphasis firmly on safety and it boasted a padded dashboard, fueltank relocated to the boot inside the massively rigid body shell. The addedweight was compensated for by larger and more powerful V 8 engines sourced fromthe S-Class sedans and the new suspension system, with a trailing rear armreplacing the old swing axle, was a major improvement. The pinnacle of the W 107's long and successful career was the 560 SL, produced between 1986 and 1989 in limited numbers. Featuring a powerful new all-alloy 5.5-litre V 8 engine(the largest fitted to the SL) mated to the silky smooth four-speed automatic, the 560 SL may have looked externally similar to its predecessors - with only achin spoiler, new alloy wheels and revised sill treatment - but underneaththere were numerous technological improvements including ABS brakes, revisedsuspension, the latest Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection and various interiorupgrades. With vault-like build quality, the SL had matured into a well-sortedclassic by the time the 560 SL was introduced and the car remains a superblyengineered, beautifully finished sports roadster today.

This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL is finished in Burgundy (Cabernet Red) over Burgundy (Medium Red) leather and powered by a 238 hp 5.6-liter V 8 paired with a four-speed automatictransmission. Equipment includes a Black soft top, a body-color removablehardtop, 15″ gullideckel wheels, automatic climate control, and OEM Becker Grand Prix stereo. The car was first registered in New Jersey until 2010 andlater spent time in West Palm Beach, FL as a summer ride, and in 2019 the carwas moving to South Carolina. In 2020 the car was acquired by me, as a part ofmy collection, and kept it in Summerfield, NC, where I was planning to move. This R 107 shows almost 64,879 miles (only 300 miles in my hand) and is offered withmanufacturer's literature, a rolling stand for the hardtop with cover, carcover, original tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolinatitle.

The car has original paint and interior, even has the hand painted sidelines, as an unrestored example this car is a time capsule, has the original rearbench seat, a really rare option at the time, the front seat has minor defects,as a lack of moisturizing, that can easily be solved by without changing thecover,

(the original roser leather usedin the car, is no longer available, is better to keep this or try to find a NOSseat cover, in order to keep the car original unrestored).

As a collector I value more the well kept cars, than the restored ones, that'swhy I bought this car, I had decided to sell the car, because my plan of moving tothe states where changed, and exporting the car to where I live at this timewould be very expensive, so I have to sell it, because I won't be able to enjoyit, and is at my father's house and he need the space.

Part of my plan with car was to put the euro bumpers, in order to havethe sleeker euro look in the car.

About my curation plan of the car:

I´ll recommend you change the softop, it looks in good condition, butthe fabric is dry, because of a long time stored with the hard top on.

About the paint, as an 24 years old paint, it has some scratch fromremoving the hard top, and some patina in the Hood and left front fender, fromexcess buffing, I recommend, a paint correction and a ceramic coating, in orderto preserve the paint and the looks of the car (some pictures attached, mail me for more pictures).

The car has no rust, in general, except from a small spot, in the lowerpart of the front passenger fender (picture attached), that it could easily be address withoutpainting the hole fender (didn't had the time to do it, but was in my plans).
