International Harvester Scout.

I've decided to sell my daily driver '73 Scout ii.  This is a great Scout ii with a 345 and Torque Flight 727 auto trans.  I believe the truck to be mostly original, minus the few changes I've made (listed below).  I've worked hard to keep originality while making updates/upgrades where appropriate to improve drivability.

Loads of work done in last 12 months.  Here's a list of highlights:

-5 digit odometer reads 25xxx (I drive it regularly so a few miles will tick up).

-Top end motor rebuild; heads completely cleaned and resurfaced by pro shop.  New seals all the way up, etc.  Powder-coated parts.

-New carb, plugs/wires, etc – everything that needed replaced got replaced.  New hoses, etc.

-Manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets.

-Front drum to disc brake conversion! (all new front calipers, rotors, pads, etc).

-New ball joints, U-joints, wheel bearings, alignment, all of that stuff.

-New master brake cylinder/bleed/fluid.

-New rear brake cylinder, pads.

-New dual exhaust/mufflers.

-New accelerator cable.

-New alternator/belt.

-Hoses.

-Engine oil pan seal

-Rear main seal.

-Transmission/transfer case fully resealed, including trans oil pan.

-All new fluids.

-Removed points and added Pertronix electronic ignition into distributor.

-4” Rough Country lift.

-Vintage Eagle wheels. -Fresh rubber (as of a year ago…less than 2k miles on them).

-New radiator.

-Rebuilt windshield washer system.

-LED headlights (originals included).

-Replaced dash back lights with LED so the gauges can actually be seen at night.

-New steering wheel that makes sense with bigger tires.  (original steering wheel included).

-New windshield/seal.

-Got turn signals working.

-I found a period OEM AM/FM radio that works (original speaker sounds 100 years old, but works).

-Endless elbow grease and cleaning.

-There is more.  I didn't hesitate to replace anything that was worn out.

I have an OEM air conditioning system that will go with the truck (not currently installed, but I think everything is there that's needed, including the under-dash control unit).  Original heater works great.

Original interior is in tact and is in pretty good shape.  Non-cracked dash pad.  Headliner in-tact.  Original mirrors look super cool but need a little work to firm up the single ball joint that holds circular mirror.  Cool patina.

Mechanically, it's pretty dialed!  Not much you'll need to do to drive this truck daily.  Could use some fine carb tuning to dial in jetting, etc depending on where you live.

The new owner of this truck will not have to mess much with mechanical areas and will be able to jump right in to cosmetics and rust repair…like most of these trucks, there is some rust.  The frame does not have rust and the chassis is structurally sound.  There is, however, rust around edges of body floor pan, rear floor edge, lower fenders, and center body wedges (these wedges will need replaced at some point).  These pre-fab'd parts are readily available and someone with a little welding know-how should be able to fix the rust and paint this truck…and bring the value up a ton!  There are a few dings/dents/scratches of course…don't expect perfection in the body, but it's overall pretty decent.   See pics.

Will also include a factory service manual.

Clean/clear title.  I get people talking to me and giving me thumbs up and compliments all of the time.  You get all original parts I pulled plus any extras I have.  Time for someone to take over and finish this cool old truck!
