I am selling my 1981 Jeep CJ 8 (Scrambler). I have owned this Jeep since around 1998 and it has had a couple changes over the years. It has been to the Rubicon trail, made many trips to Colorado, one trip to the Black Hill and countless trips over the years around Minnesota, It is very well sorted, its reliable and it works very well. It also is very capable of going to the mall, Dairy Queen or what ever on-road trip you prefer as it will run comfortably on the road at 70 mph and drives at least as good as a LJ. It is all steel and completely rust free. Inside it has power/heated leather seats, rear heater, LED interior lighting and full Autometer gauges. Audio is Kenwood marine, Infinity speaker, 2 amps, 2 subs and a 110 v ac inverter. The floor was bed lined and painted, no carpet.

The exterior paint is good but far from perfect, no dents but as it is a trail truck it has a little personality in the way of use. A new motor and trans. were built and installed the winter 2017/18, I have all the details/specs, and will provide, also see pics. The motor is a AMC 360 with Fitech EFI, HEI ignition and 4 core copper rad. Trans is a GM TH 700 r 4, and the T case is the original D 300 with a twin stick. Front axle is a HP Dana 44 donated by a 70 s era ford, with 5.38 R & P, ARB and chromoly shafts, the rear is a HP Dana 60 donated by a 00 s era ford with same 5.38 s, ARB and Dutchmen semi float axels. The brakes are 4 wheel disc with hydro boost assist. Suspension is a slightly modified Warn Black Diamond XCL, radius arm front and triangulated 4 link rear with Radflo shocks and QA 1 springs, it works awesome with the wheel base. Tires are 37” BFG Krawlers including spare on 6 bolt Eagle Alloys. Miscellaneous items to mention are built in lockable and watertight cabinets, front and rear Warn winches with in cab control, engine driven air compressor from Off Road Only, in tank fuel pump from Hyper Fuel, fully boxed YJ frame(s), cargo rack and spare tire carrier, and comes with engine driven cooling fan and Flexlight electric fans.
