1999 MERCEDES SL500 R129 FACELIFT, DESIGNO,65K FSH, OWNED 8 YEARS, AMG WHEELS

1999 R 129 SL 500 final facelift model. Car is well specified, with Designo Paint, a Designo Black/Yellow interior (the leather has been dyed all black before my ownership, could be reverted to original if required). To the best of my knowledge this car is a ONE OF ONE- there isn't another UK R 129 out there in this Spec!

In addition to that, the car was specified with AMG 18 Split Rim wheels and suspension. The usual other R 129 features apply, electric heated leather seats, climate, cruise, xenons. The stereo has been upgraded with a period look Blaupunkt Bremen unit with DAB and Bluetooth streaming.

I've owned the car 8 years (4 th owner from new) and have done about 5 k miles in it's time with me, hence the reason for selling. As an enthusiast, the car has never wanted for anything in my ownership: there are MANY invoices from my ownership, plus others dating back to earlier in it's life. These include r efreshed suspension, brakes and tyres plus a f ull repaint with Genuine MB front wings.

The car comes with the fixed hardtop as well (not pictured). There is also a stand for the top which I will dismantle and include. The registration will be retained by me after the sale. I'm not removing it yet because if the car doesn't sell I'm keeping it, but will once a sale is confirmed.

Expenditure this year has included an engine and gearbox service (by the same Mercedes specialist that has serviced it throughout my time), four Dunlop Sportmaxx tyres, the new stereo, a paintwork detail, a xenon headlight ballast and two cats (common fault- they degrade over time and rattle).

To give an idea of condition, if I were to keep the car on my to-do list for next year would be a wheel refurb, a small paint repair to the front bumper corner (the mechanic damaged it when fitting the ballast), and a paint repair to some blistering (not rust) that has appeared on the passenger door. My detailer said not just leave the paint as they are that minor, but I would anyway! They are present in the pictures, but unnoticeable.

Everything is in working order, the roof, air con and electrics are all as they should be. It's a fabulous example of an iconic Mercedes.

Shipping to the mainland is available by a reputable local company for approx £450. I am 1 hour from Belfast airport/harbour and 2.5 hours from Dublin. I would be happy to collect a purchaser if they wanted to make a day trip and drive home. I've done it many times and a door to door trip to London can be achieved in 12 hours from here including the ferry (Dublin-Holyhead).
