1955 Buick Century

I will be listing a few cars here in the next week or two for my family.  We are reducing are number of cars, so please see my other listings as well.  I am not a dealer.

"Thrill of the year is Buick"

The 1955 Buick Century could be considered "The Banker's Hot Rod" ...  Having the engine of the much larger Roadmaster, but the smaller body of the Special, this was the fastest US production car for 0-60 and 1/4 mile time in 1955.  Having both sporty and elegant styling for its time period, it has become a popular collectible car in our hobby.  GM styled and marketed these cars to be somewhere in-between a Cadillac and a Chevrolet.  And what a great style it is!

Here we have a beautiful car that has been very well cared for by both my parents and a long time previous owner from the Buick Club of America.  This car has always been garage kept and has spent most of its years as a car show and weekend cruiser.  It started its life in South Gate California, spent most of its years Arizona, and then was moved here to Florida.  Although this isn't a 100% 'perfect' or a 'concourse' type of car, and has some average flaws from age and driving, it has been shown in many car shows and has won some trophies here and there.  This would be a very nice car for all your cruise night events, local car shows, or just own/drive for fun!  This car will be a treasure for your family to own for years to come and a great investment too.

The original 322 V8 has been rebuilt in the past, runs great, and has been updated for modern unleaded fuel.  It starts and runs very well, idles smooth, and makes great power.  The transmission was fully rebuilt 6 years ago and operates well at all speeds.  It has working gauges, lights, and the original radio also works.  The car still has the original gas pedal start, which also operates as it should.  It has standard steering and brakes and the car stops/steers as it should.

This car looks great both inside and out.  The exterior in its original colors of Cherokee Red and Dover White makes it quite a looker in person.  The paint is older, and although a few flaws are present from age/driving, it still shines and looks great.  The upholstery was restored back in 1997 and looks great.  Engine bay and trunk are both clean and tidy.  The doors, hood, trunk all open and close nicely and all of the body panels line up very well.  Underneath the car looks good and solid as you would expect.  Front bumper/chrome was re-chromed in 2011.  Overall, the car presents itself well and is nice enough to win a trophy at some of the car shows you attend.

Please see the photos and ask whatever questions you might have.
