I am offering for sale my Ford Granada 2. 8 ghia X. It is a fantastic car and I am very sad to see it go. A new caring owner is needed to carry on the care of the car. I shall miss driving around the Surrey country lanes in such style.

 This top of the range car has had a good life and has been well cared for by all its owners. It has been garaged throughout its life and has received the proper care it is due .

The car sailed through it's MOT today with 1 very minor advisory that my garage said didnt need any action.

There is tax until the end of september.

As you can see from The photographs taken in Richmond Park. nbsp;it is finished in metallic Denim Blue or Mineral blue ( a Blue/Grey). possibly the nicest colour the cars were ever produced in. It looks fantastic and I get many compliments on its condition wherever I go. (Sorry if the photos are a bit dull. Its the weather!)

 The car has had in the past 2 new wings and a front valance and was obviously completely resprayed at that time. The quality of the finish is superb and the paintwork has a great shine.  

The interior is in two tone blue and light grey/sliver and is in excellent condition. The headlining is clean and the seats are very comfortable. The most comfortable car I have sat in. The front seats are electric and heated and in fully working condition.  

The car has electric everything including doors. windows. seats. and tilt and slide sunroof. All are working with one exception. see bad bits below. The car has a modern radio/cassette player with a 10 disc CD multichanger in the boot. (please note there is no ariel so radio has no signal. With 10 discs to choose from I have never missed it).

The engine runs very well and has plenty of pull even after 28 years. The oil pressure is good. The gear box changes just as it should without problem. The car has power steering making the car easy to drive. The ride is smooth and comfortable and the car handles well through the corners.

The car has covered a genuine 71. 00 miles ( and rising as I am still enjoying it)with MOT history dating back to 2005 to back this up.  The tyres are good and there is an alloy as a spare. The wheels are in good condition as the previous owner had different wheels on it.

I have fitted a new battery which has a running guarentee and a new starter motor.

The ride is smooth and very comfortable and very enjoyable and you feel a bit special driving along as everyone looks at you. It is a joy to drive and I love sitting at the lights listening to the V6 engine throb away.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND VIEWING TO SEE HOW GOOD THE CAR IS.

The car still has its original retailer stickers and number plates and Ford etched windows. The licence plate is a good number and original to the car.

I can give you a run down of the previous owners in person as it is a long story. The car comes from the Darlington area until my ownership.

Bad bits.

There is a small amount of rust starting to bubble up on the lower edges of the nearside rear wheel arch and if this is delt with promptly this will not spread and be a problem. There is a tiny bubble on the end of the rear wing just left of the Granada badging. My local body shop said this could be put right for around £250- £400. Then the body work will be perfect!!

The central locking on the front passenger door is not working. The door locks and operates manually and with the key and Im told is an easy job to fix. It has never bothered me or caused any inconvenience so was low on my list.

The rear bumper has a little pitting on the underside but again this is small and does not really show unless you bend down to look. I mention it for accuracy.

I have been painfully honest in my description of the car as I like to ebay honestly and keep my 100% rating. The car is in super condition!

I have priced the car to allow for this work. I would have asked in excess of £5000 if the wheel arch was done.

Summary

This car is in fantastic condition but is 28 years old and there are a few small problems as described above. Please come and inspect it to satisfiy yourselves.

However. it is very near to a perfect 28 year old car as you can get and there are few examples around to equal it. I have only seen 2 in better shape for sale over the past 3 years. One sold for £6000 and the other just short of £7000.

These cars are rising in value quite quickly and will be worth a lot more in 5 years time.

A kind ebayer informed me he thought the colour was Mineral Blue. Whaterver it's real name it's a great colour. The photos dont do it justice. Also this car has not been pimped. owered or had ugly big wings added and if kept like this in original condition will be worth far more in the future. It is a classic.

I had a question about the air con. This car did have air con back in 1985. I never use air con and I had forgotten to put it in the listing. It is not blowing cold air and probably needs re gassing. I was told a while back by a mechanic friend thet all the belts etc were working. I have never looked into it as I wasnt going to use it and I did forget it had it. Sorry. Hope this information helps. Also the heater and trip computer are working.
