Daimler DS420 Limousine ultimate specification

Beautifully appointed Daimler State Limousine, now in need of attention to bodywork, these are going off the road at an alarming rate, there were 560 taxed in the UK in 2010, that figure had droped to 260 by 2019, according to the excellent "how many left " website, a special late example like this is probably unique to find for sale now

Registered August 1992 this is one of the last of these iconic cars which began production in 1968 and finished in 1992, I have not researched the history of this car but would love to know who ordered it.

It has been off the road for a few years, was removed from fleet to attend to the rear arches, now time to pass on to someone else to pick it up, it has been dry stored most of that time, it starts and runs fine and foot brakes work, I have had it up to speed locally on a private road and it goes very well, engine good oil pressure, steering and gearbox functioning fine, osf caliper is sticking one a little but I expect will free up easily, also the exhaust is blowing , probably split at a joing which I will attemtpt to very before auctiend ends, my own experience of these cars are they are very robust and reliable machines, Odometer currently reads 90651 which I cannot verify but would say is a credible figure

The extras added to this car from the base price car which was £46000 already are incredible, this includes at 1991 prices

The bodywork requires attention worst are the rear arches and drivers rear door, however there are other bits of corrosion  throughout the car which will require attention, including door bottoms, rear valance etc,, will almost certaintly need work to one or maybe all jacking points,  it is a project, I would say a competent bodyshop would have it looking easily good for wedding work in a short space of time, rear arches are available, nsr bumper piece is in poor condition but I will include a good piece, inspections is welcome I have a ramp and will be happy to have it on the ramp for a good look over it,

I have used these cars for over 10 years in the wedding business, they are fast, incredibly versatile, popular and reliable, I have 5 at the minute and could not function without them, they are kept busy for both the Bride and just as often for Bridesmaids, usually they can carry up to 7 passengers, this car can only carry 6 as a space is lost to the Cocktail cabinet

The car is sold without reserve to the highest bidder, I will assist overseas bidders where I can and will assist in loading car etc if you wish to have it picked up this would be from EH24 9DU

There is no reserve price car will be sold at end of the auction to the winning bidder, it is sold without any warranty whatsoever, I can provide videos, photos whatever you wish, before sale ends, any questions just ask, I will require £500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of the sale ending, no ifs, buts or maybes, I have been mucked around by the previous highest bidder on this car and the 2nd highest bidder, both overseas, baffles me why people do this, must have too much time on their hands :(

I will sell to an overseas buyer but my support will be limited to helping arrang transport to a UK port, not keeping it insured so you can drive home!!
