1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Always a favorite among Muscle car collectors, the Firebird Trans Am is a car that is easily recognizable. This particular car is special in that the exterior is highly original, right down to the Screaming Eagle on the hood. The interior has been re-trimmed in the factory correct color combination, and the car retains the 400 ci V 8 under the hood. A number of years ago the car was owned by a Firebird enthusiast and collector from Southern Michigan. He bought this car new in August of 1975 from Don Medow Pontiac of South Bend Indiana. This car eventually sat alongside a number of other Firebirds in the collection, including a number of true 455 SD cars.

Cameo White paint covers the familiar body lines, which is the original factory color (Code 11) and it is evident that most of the paint is original. The paint does show age in a number of places - there is cracking in the paint here and there, the paint is thin at the edges of the body panels, and the top of the rear bumper is fading. The original Screaming Chicken is still affixed to the hood which is a bit faded, but as an original piece, is really rare to see on a 46 year old car.

The originality of the exterior is met with a very nicely updated interior. The place to be in this Firebird is the driver's seat. The interior is extremely tidy, and has been re-finished in the factory correct Blue and White Vinyl. Pontiac began offering more interior trim options, which left the option open for multicolor interiors like this car has. Behind the three-spoke steering wheel, a grouping of round gauges and air vents are flanked by the familiar engine-turned aluminum trim. The original Delco AM/FM radio unit sits just above an 8-Track player in the middle of the dash. Multicolor interior trim was a great choice for a white car that has a couple blue accents on the exterior.

Under the hood is a 400 ci V 8 mated to an automatic transmission. The engine bay is complete and well kept, with the white "shaker" intake cover being the centerpiece. Factory A/C components, Pontiac blue engine block, Power Steering, Power Brake reservoir, and even the emissions components are visible under the hood. A simple exhaust system ends in chrome exhaust tips and consists of a simple pair of mufflers, which allows you to hear the sound of the 400 ci V 8. The underside of the car is solid and a number of service records from over the years are also available with the car.

The originality of this car is really a great feature. It doesn't look brand new as a fully restored car would, but this car gives you the chance to see the little areas of wear and tear on the exterior, and the age of the paint. The Screaming Chicken is a little wrinkly and slightly faded, but there's no mistaking that iconic bird! This car was thoroughly enjoyed by a Firebird collector, and may have even been a catalyst for his extensive Firebird collection. This Firebird is ready to fly the coop, giving you the chance to add it to your car collection. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. About Garage Kept Motors

Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.

For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.

For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
