Introduced to the public in Spring of 1971. the all new Mercedes-Benz SL or code name R107 became available as a personal luxury sports car. Nicknamed de Panzerwagen “Armored Car” for weighing in at more than 3. 00 pounds. the new SL for model year 1972 was a completely new body. with new luxury and safety refinements. A completely redesigned engine was housed underneath the hood. a 4. 5 liter SOHC V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. 1981 saw the launch of the 380SL which introduced a 3. 8 litre V8 aluminum engine that was lighter and more efficient. By 1985 Mercedes-Benz finally upped the performance back to where it should have been all along. Introduced in summer of 1985. the 560SL was launched for model year 1986 with an all new 5. 6 litre aluminum engine giving it more horsepower and higher compression. The interior saw an update and introduced a drivers airbag.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL coupe'/roadster in Smoke Silver on Parchment leather interior. The car has traveled just 105. 50 original documented miles. clean and clear AZ title with Box A miles. This beautiful SL left the Mercedes-Benz production line February of 1988 and was then sent to a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Orange County California where it sold to its first owner. In June of 1999 this 560SL moved with its first owner to Indiana until the second owner purchased the car in April of 2004 bringing the car to Scottsdale Arizona where the car has been ever since. This is a very nice well maintained 560SL that runs and drives great. shifts through the gears well without any hesitation or clunking. The car starts right up without any hesitation or blowing of any smoke and accelerates smoothly. The car has just had brand new brake pads and rotors installed using factory OEM parts. All of the electronics in the car work. the original Becker Europa Mercedes-Benz radio works and the factory power antenna goes up and down without any problem. All of the headlights. taillights. interior lights. side marker lights. reverse lights. brake lights and turn signals work. The AC works well and the heater blows hot air on all of the fan speeds. The power windows and door locks all work as does the power mirror. The car is finished in Smoke Silver paint and looks excellent; the car has been repainted before due to sun fade and oxidation from the AZ sun. The body of the car is in excellent condition. free of any rust or damage. The chrome and rubber trim look great. still showing a nice deep finish without any sun fade or damage. The interior looks great. not perfect but shows incredibly well. The leather seats show almost no wear or creasing of any kind. the dashboard is perfect without any cracks or fade. the wood trim looks really nice with a few small cracks around the window switches. All of the trim and switchgear are excellent only showing minimal wear. the carpets look great and show little wear and almost no markings. The rear bench is in excellent shape and shows almost no use. The softop on the car is the original factory top and looks excellent. there are no tears. cracking or discoloration. The top opens and closes with ease and all of the mechanical components are all intact and working. The hardtop looks very nice. shows little wear and the chrome looks great. The hardtop fits nicely on the car and locks down into place like it should. The car has excellent tires; they are older tires but do not show any dry rot and the tread looks almost new. The factory Mercedes-Benz wheels show almost no wear at all. The car does have its original spare. tool kit. jack and manuals present. as well as the hard/softop keys. and two sets of Mercedes Huff cut keys. This is an excellent two owner 560SL that has been well maintained and looks great. clean and clear carfax with a clean and clear AZ title and Box A actual miles.
