1978 Datsun 280 Z

Nissan released the Datsun 280 Z to the North American market in the '75 model year. Our 2-owner 1978 280 Z has been the possession of the current owner for the last 39 years and was the beneficiary of a partial restoration in the mid-90 s. The exterior was carefully refinished in 2-stage Teal Green and is in very good condition. American Racing alloy wheels mount 14" BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that provide the perfect accent. The interior was also refreshed with new Ivory seat vinyl. Carpeting, dash/dashpad, door cards, rubber seals, headliner – all in good condition. Convenience features include air conditioning, tinted windows, AM/FM/cassette stereo and a full factory gauge package. The owner states that the 2.8 L SOHC L 28-E six-cylinder is matching numbers and has not required a rebuild. It incorporates a cast iron block, aluminum head, L-Jetronic fuel injection, electric fuel pump and performance exhaust system. Power is delivered through a 5-speed all-syncro manual gearbox to a stock rear differential with 3.55:1 gearing. The suspension is an independent Mac Pherson/Chapman strut design with coil springs, telescopic dampeners and front sway bar.
