Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2) based on 56 votes
Offered for sale is this 1960 Triumph Herald Saloon 948 in powder blue. This is an opportunity to purchase a very useable daily classic in highly original factory condition. Examples in this type of condition are becoming hard to come by and prices are rising every year.

The vehicle is a very early model and was first sold by Emerson Park Motors on the 20th May 1960. It has been dry stored all its life, with only 2 owners from new. The car has recently undergone mild refurbishment as part of a car restoration show, with works detailed below. The car also comes with a huge history file and a box of original spares.

Commission number: G40951

Engine number: G35593 HE

EXTERIOR

The bodywork was professionally resprayed a decade ago and the body remains overall in very good condition with no rust on the front end, wheel arches, window frames, or usual spots under the master cylinders. There is some light bubbling, just starting to show, in the lower door sections, but overall the car is in extremely presentable condition with good panel gaps and immaculate interior boot space. The chassis and underside are in great condition and have been waxoyled.

INTERIOR

The car has a complete new carpet set and has an oil pressure, water temperature, and battery amp meter fitted, but is otherwise in original condition which includes the original factory floor pans, still in powder blue. The pressed cardboard original dash is in superb condition and the glove compartment cage is still present, as is the auxiliary parking light plug, complete with detachable parking light included in the box of spares. Original grey blue vinyl seats are in superb condition with very little wear.

ENGINE BAY

The 4 speed 948 Triumph engine runs and drives very well, as you'd expect for a car that's only covered 50,000 miles in its life. Recent recommissioning work has focussed on ensuring the car runs and drives safely. Work includes, but is not limited to: a new clutch and master cylinder; new brake pipes, shoes and master cylinder; fuel pump overhaul; full service including oil and filter change, fan belt, plugs, points, condenser and ignition etc.

Viewings in Wiltshire are welcomed and lots more photos are available on request. Please message for any questions or further details.
