This SLC is smooth, powerful and feels tight. The engine is in excellent condition as is the gearbox which changes gear smoothly. The steering is responsive and has no slack and the brakes are powerful, being virtually brand new.

The bodywork of this car has absolutely no rust/rot issues, due to having lived all its life in San Francisco before coming to the UK in 2017. There are some small age related chips and marks to the paintwork. This is a big plus point as rot is a major issue with many 107's.

When I bought the car, I had the rear window removed (and replaced with a brand new heated screen and new rubber seal) attended to by a  professional classic car restoration shop and at the same time they removed and restored the louvered side windows, removed and renovated the entire sun roof mechanism and resprayed the roof and rear portion of the car to a high standard due to their being some sun damage to the roof paintwork. Photos of this work are available on request.

The car has its original factory underseal that is still in excellent condition. Looking under the car, it is amazing that it is nearly 43 years old and everything is in an extraordinarily rust free condition. This is what primarily attracted me to this car.

The car is totally dry and watertight. No smell of mould, just leather.

New original Mercedes chin spoiler fitted (I also have an AMG front spoiler which came with the car, that will give the car the look of a later model if desired)

Last serviced (including brake fluid change again) in November 2020.

I have a large file of receipts from the classic parts department of Sandown Mercedes and also the SL Shop as well as receipts for the completed work.

Altogether, I have spent c. £15,000 on the car ( plus what I bought it for), so I can honestly say that the car is in very good working condition and a joy to drive. I have spent all the money needed on this car to ensure that it is truly a reliable and comfortable classic Mercedes Coupe, so any further work you may wish to do will be purely cosmetic.

The car is reliable, superb to drive and ready to enjoy this summer and will bring you miles and miles of joy.

The climate control:

The original climate control heater servo & amplifier were replaced by the previous owner with a much better, modern trouble free electronic upgrade kit, retaining full OEM function. The controls all work as they should, blows hot and cold air, but as the a/c compressor seized on a trip to the Cotswolds, it now doesn't chill and will need replacing if you want a/c - I didn't. I have the Original Mercedes workshop manual for the climate control system which I will include with the car.

I also have the contact details of the previous owners in California which has proved useful and provides providence.

High quality breathable outdoor waterproof cover bought from The SL Shop is included.

The car is advertised elsewhere.
