EQUIPMENT
Opalescent Maroon paintwork, Champagne leather upholstery, Borg-Warner automatic transmission, Power steering, Disc brakes all round, Push-button start, Reclining front seats, Rear central armrest, Lockable glove compartment, Polished walnut dash, Two-spoke steering wheel with horn push ring, Twin fog lamps, Cigar lighter, Ash trays, Electrically operating windscreen washers, Oil pressure gauge, Water temperature gauge, Fuel gauge, Brake fluid level warning light, High output heating system with windscreen demister, Phillips Radio, Front seat belts, Chrome exterior trim, Driver and passenger side wing mirrors, Spare wheel, Jack, Original maintenance handbook.

EXTERIOR
Having previously been treated to a full bare metal repaint in striking Opalescent Maroon, the bodywork retains a near pristine finish boasting a deep metallic shine and uniform colour throughout - our studio photos really don't do it justice. Before fresh paint was applied the entire shell was plastic bead-blasted, dip galvanised, seam sealed, and then finished with smooth anti-stone chip beneath the lower paint, all for a longer lasting and surely better-than-new result. Looking along both sides the car is remarkably straight with even panel gaps to report all round. Elsewhere, the plentiful brightwork remains in excellent corrosion-free condition and appears very original, the only real negative to report being a slight duller finish to the bumpers. All the lights are clear and free from any damage, and at the front end there's barely a stone chip in sight. The finest we've seen.

INTERIOR
The lavish Mark 2 interior presents impeccably throughout. Presenting with almost no signs of any wear at all the leather seats remain in perfect condition, the Champagne upholstery still notably supple. The glossy walnut dash is also like new, with a lustful sheen and absolutely no marking or lacquer damage to report. Premium leather extends along the centre console - again, all entirely unmarked - where the original Phillips radio and integrated speaker can still be found. In the footwells the unspoiled carpets are protected a full set of Jaguar overmats in complementing cream. There is no wear to any of the door cards and the headlining is also immaculate. In the boot you'll find a remarkably tidy and very spacious luggage compartment fully equipped with a jack, spare wheel, and vinyl floor covering.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
With its automatic choke the 3.4-litre XK straight-six starts on the button, producing a rather nice rumble through the twin exhaust pipes. The car is mechanically very strong and most recently benefits from a mechanical re-commissioning in preparation for sale, the invoice for this work totalling in excess of £3,900. The current MOT is valid until May 2022.

WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Mk2 sits on original 15-inch wheels painted in maroon and finished with the correct Jaguar hubcaps and rim embellishers. The wheels are wrapped in a matching set of period-style Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres with ample tread at each corner. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, bringing the car to a halt safely and in a straight line; new rear pads have just been fitted and the calipers re-shimmed all round.

HISTORY FILE
This gleaming Mk2 3.4 automatic was first registered in May 1967. It was fully restored to a very high standard a few years back by the current owner's father and has remained correctly garaged away from the elements ever since. Following on from a period in storage the car has recently been subject to a mechanical re-commissioning and MOT for the new keeper's peace of mind. This work was carried out by a well-regarded classic car specialist not too far from us, with any items requiring attention being rectified as necessary. An invoiced breakdown of the recent overhaul is available on request, as are a selection of photos taken during the comprehensive restoration process.
