Up for reluctant  sale is my '51 Ford F3 pickup truck. I imported this truck myself from Kansas 3 years ago. it was a farm truck.

While in the USA it had all new brakes - drums. shoes. cylinders. rehoned master cylinder with new seals. a replacement 65 dana back axle. new radiator. fuel pump. thermostats and custom exhaust (side exits).

In the UK it has been rewired with rear lights. indicators and fuse box added. all original still 6volts. new battery. new spark plugs. leads and 6v coil. halogen head lights and the oil bath air filter modified to accept a paper modern type air filter. later Ford F100 steel wheels with very good condition tubeless radial premium tyres. A new MOT in 2012 and registered in August 2012 in the UK with age related number.

I have only taken this truck to one local show since I have owned it and I am starting a new business following redundancy. hence the reason for sale.

The truck is a V8 flathead (8BA) with a reconditioned engine from a Ford approved reconditioners in the USA (age unknown). doesn't knock or smoke. it runs well. pulls well. can be reluctant to start with the lazy 6volt starter motor and could probably do with some tinkering and I suspect a carb rebuild ( a used rebuilt carb and other spares will be included with the sale if required). Gearbox is the four speed crash box. clutch feels/works great. handbrake on transmission works well. Steering and suspension all good with no wear or play in the king pins etc.

The party trick is the tipping body which works from a power take-off (PTO) from the gearbox. operated from inside the cab. The hydraulic tipping conversion is in excellent condition - two stage rams and looks a genuine 1950's option made by a company called Harsh.

I changed the dash gauges because the speedo was broken and since I did that none of the gauges work. although they all worked before. except the fuel gauge which I guess needs a new fuel sender (the old set of gauges included in the sale).

I believe this truck has what Ford called the 5 star cab. and there is a heater unit option fitted(not checked or wired in at present).  The bodywork is as you see it. plenty of dents and surface rust (patina!). the back body has some rot all round. but even has the original wood floor boards. nbsp;the cab is very good. rot free. nbsp;the chassis is excellent just light surface rust.

In all the truck is pretty original and roadworthy and in good working order. this is a reluctant sale because I need the space and don't use it much as I don't have the time. I don't need the money. I have estimated the value sensibly so serious enquiries only please. get in touch and I am happy to answer any questions and arrange for you to come and have a look.
