FOR SALE; BMW E30 M3 CECOTTO EDITION // MACAO BLUE // 1 OF 505 // INCREDIBLE HISTORY // 17+ YEAR OWNERSHIP

EQUIPMENT
S14 Engine (215 BHP with Full Exhaust Catalyser), Body Coloured Cam Cover, Polished Exhaust Tailpipes, Macao Blue Metallic (250), Black 16″ BMW BBS Alloy Wheels, 5-Speed Dogleg Manual, Rear Wing, Front Spoiler, Flared Arches, Silver M cloth with Silver Bison Leather (0345), Sport Evo Steering Wheel, M3 Branded Sill Covers, Illuminated Gear Knob, Cecotto Edition Plaque, Lift-Up-And-Slide-Back Sunroof Electric, Electric Windows, Manual Rear Windows, Rear Sun-blind, BMW Bavaria C Reverse Cassette/FM Radio, Roof Antenna, Tool Kit, On Board Computer, Graduated Tinted Windscreen

EXTERIOR
Finished in its special edition/evolution exclusive shade of Macao Blue Metallic this E30 M3 Johnny Cecotto Edition looks superb; showing with a deep shine the stunning purple/blue hue clearly differentiates the Cecotto from the standard M3, with the added benefit of a Black centred BBS wheels and the Evolution II body kit, the cars already boxy form looks evermore it's race homologation designation.

Having been used sparingly throughout its life the overall condition of the exterior is very good, with just a handful of light stone-chips to note around an otherwise very clean and cosseted example.

INTERIOR
Contrasting the deep blue bodywork the interior of this M3 is upholstered in an optional combination of Silver Bison leather with M Sport Fabric inserts, which feature the iconic M-Division 3 stripes throughout. At arms reach from the driver sits an upgraded Sports Evolution steering wheel, finished in alcantara whilst in the centre console remains the original BMW Bavaria C Reverse Cassette/FM Radio and Cecotto Edition Plaque, confirming this as car 341 of 505.

Further refinements come in the shape of the electric sunroof and front windows, whilst to the rear passengers benefit from pop out windows and a rear sun-blind. Overall condition of the interior is fantastic, free from any unsightly stains or tears the leather presents largely very well, as does the M-sport fabric which adds a real 80's nostalgia to the space.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Paving the way for the next run of E30 M3s the Johnny Cecotto Edition was the first car to feature BMW's S14 engine with a second catalyst, a variant that would go on to power all EU spec cars at the end of 1989 and also feature in the Evo II homologation car. Producing 215 bhp in the Cecotto the engine saw a power increase of 15 bhp from the earlier version, meaning 0-60 took just 6.7 seconds and top speed was a claimed 150 mph. As was typical in all European E30 M3's a Dogleg 5-Speed Manual gearbox was paired to the S14 engine, clearly derived from the racing pedigree of the M-Division.

Mechanically this car appears to be in excellent order, with a comprehensive service history consisting of 20 stamps in the original service book and a vast file of accompanying invoices.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Rounding off the iconic style of the E30 M3 an original set of 16″BBS cross spoke alloys, with a polished rim and black centres, sit in pristine condition. Matching Continental Sport Contact 2's can be found at each corner, with good depth remaining all around.

Brakes perform well under test, with new front pads and discs fitted to the car less than a year ago.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied to its first German owner on 28/06/89 this stunning E30 M3 Johnny Cecotto Edition is 1 of just 480 cars produced as confirmed by a letter from BMW Great Britain, confirming the specification and build number (341). The car remained in Germany with its first and second owner until 1997, where it had been serviced 8 times and covered the majority of its miles, with around 98,000 km on the clock before the car arrived in the UK.

The car had a conversion to a mph speedometer at 100,969 km (62,713 miles) as outlined in a hand written log of maintenance by the then owner and accompanying invoice/photographs. After a long search it was acquired by its current owner in 2004 who wanted the best example at the time and a car he could treasure, of which he did just that and cared for this special edition for over 17 years.

Overall maintenance of the car has been fastidious, with 20 stamps in the original service book and a vast log of invoices outlining thousands of pounds worth of parts and maintenance.

Further confirmation of the cars low mileage come from an almost complete log of MOTs dating back to the cars arrival in the UK in 1998, with the current MOT free from and advisories and valid until September 2021.

Present with the car is the complete original book pack with stamped service book, huge file of invoices and MOTs, original german registration documents, V5 and a 2 keys.
