This is the second time that we have had the pleasure in offering this stunning 2. 7 RS recreation for the sale. The car was fastidiously built in 2005 to pay homage to the original factory 2. 7 RS lightweight. The detail and build file supplied with the car is second to none. with over 80 photographs and a huge file of receipts. There is simply too much done to this car to fit into our advert. a brief synopsis follows:
The car was taken back to the metal and built up where possible using all correct parts. The body was resprayed and correct 2. 7 RS arches were fitted along with any other body work that was required. The engine. a genuine 2. 7 RS MFI motor. and gearbox were fully rebuilt (again fully photographed during build) dyno'd and installed. The car has covered in total 68. 00 miles from new and approximately 10. 00 miles since it was rebuilt into RS spec.
Our previous customer purchased the car with an eye on ensuring the car was not only mechanically historically correct for an RS but also that the interior and cosmetics were spot on. In June 2013 the car had a further £12. 00 spent to ensure this was correct. Items addressed were all door surrounds. handles and screen surrounds reverted to chrome as per the original. Brand new 15″ Fuchs (7″s & 8″s) supplied by Porsche. new dash top. knee roll. steering wheel. steering column. indicator stalks and surround and refurbished period style dials including 180 mph speedometer. Some of these items are no longer even available to purchase.
The list of work is massive and the car truely deserves to been seen in the flesh.
