1985 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 380sl for sale
Current customer rating:
Up for auction is my beautiful 1985 Mercedes 380 sl roadster.
I purchased this car from its original owner a little over 3 years ago.
It has always been garaged and according to the original owner rarely used during our mild winter Georgia months.
I have the original purchase documents. window sticker. owners manuals. keys. tool bag . ealer tag (on front) and first aid kit. etc.
The Nautical blue paint is completely original and shows extremely well for its age with only minor blemishes. The original blue soft top is in very good condition and due to its minimal use in the up position did not warrant a replacement.
There is a small (3 inch) tear on the right rear. due to being pinched when down. and a small rip in . plastic window.
The hard top is in excellent condition inside and out and includes the stand and cover as well as the cover storage bag.
As mentioned earlier. I am the second owner.
And although the car had been maintained extremely well. some items needed attention to bring it to its current level.
I have replaced the leather seat covers with original leather upholstery including the head and arm rests.
All shocks were replaced with original equipment Bilsteins.
The timing chain service including guide rails and tensioner has also been replaced.
The brake pads and rotors have also been serviced.
The tires are new Generals with less than 300 miles on them.
Other items replaced are : steering coupler. turn signal stalk (handle). shifter bushings. rear flex plate (U- joint). rear sway bar bushings. battery. and a recent oil change.
At some point the original owner had the air conditioner converted to 134. however it is currently low on coolant and does not cool.
All components are in place. and I believe with a charge of Freon it would cool as it should.
This classic Mercedes has been driven less than 3000 miles during my ownership. It is extremely dependable and has never left me stranded.
Every time I drive it. people comment on its beauty.
It is a true time capsule/survivor as everything looks completely original. right down to the front dealer tag.
It has always lived in Atlanta and shows to have had a pampered life.
There is absolutely no sign of accident damage or corrosion. and as mentioned before retains 100 percent of its original paint. Mercedes of this era are plentiful.
To find one with this much documentation and in original condition however is very rare.
I am an avid car enthusiast/ collector.
I have restored and owned many classics both foreign and domestic.
I am only listing this car because space has become an issue.
These 80 s classics have been recently recognized as increasing in value to collectors. The reserve price is lower than current collector price guides for cars of this vintage.
Please feel free to call me with any questions you might have. .
I can assist in shipping to both domestic and international buyers.
The vehicle is located 30 miles north of Atlanta Georgia. Good luck in bidding.
I am listing in other media as well so this auction could end at any time.
