1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Super Beetle

This 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle with only 89. 38 miles is in fully restored condition. We at Universal Imports have fully restored the body in 2015 with a fresh paint job and little to no rust repair. The body and paint are perfect. however. not an original VW color. although very close to the original 2579 Olympic Blue or 2376 Marina Blue. The interior has vinyl seat coverings which are in good shape in a bright white. The seats are an aftermarket bucket style front seats and the standard rear bench seat. The vehicle is fitted with front and rear seat belts. The radio is upgraded to appear like the original analog radio. however. it is a digital AM/FM stereo radio and works great. The steering wheel has been replaced with a sport wheel with a horn on the column. The tires are new and the wheels are aftermarket multi spoke wheels for a bit more attitude. The chrome bumpers. headlights. taillights. and rockers are in perfect condition. The 4 speed manual transmission is flawless with a great clutch and nice feeling center mounted shifter. The engine has been upgraded from the original 1974

Stroke x 90. 55 mm bore. Please see supporting images for specs on this engine. The Carbs have been replaced as well as installed an electronic ignition. The engine runs great with more than enough power. One thing we have noticed over the past 3 years is spark plug replacement is

neccesary

once in spring and once in the late summer if the car is only used for short distance slow stop and go travel. as this high performance engine tends to run a bit rich and slowly foul the if not driven as intended. If driven on the highway more often at higher rpm's. the plugs may not need replacement as often. We have made adjustments to lean out the engine. but then we lose some performance so we have decided that the expense of an extra set of plugs and the ease to replace was the better option to keep top running performance. The cost for spark plugs parts and labor is less than $200. The convertible top is pristine with no rips or wear. and is still a lustrous dark blue to match the wonderful color of this Super beetle.
