I'm listing this cool little Spitfire for a friend of mine. He purchased the car approximately two years ago. repaired a lot of items. and then never really used the car.   From what he tells me. the car has a new carburetor. tires. seats that have been reupholstered in leather. new dash pad. new walnut dashboard. new walnut steering wheel. new carpeting. new master cylinder. new clutch slave cylinder.

I've driven it a few times over the last couple of weeks. It seems to run okay unless it is more than 100 degrees outside. and then I notice it is difficult to start after it's been run.   On the days when it has been less than 90 outside. I don't have the same problem. It really is a blast.   Always starts on first try when cold and using the manual choke.   Brakes seem to stop the car evenly. The engine has no odd noises.   I don't notice any vibrations in steering when driving or cornering. Car shifts okay through gears including reverse.   All the running lights. turn signals. brake lights. headlights all seem to work okay. I noticed that the lights in the ventilation controls do not seem to light up.   The stereo works okay on am and fm with good sound through the speakers.   I don't know if the cassette player works or not. I don't have a cassette to check. The temp gauge does not work.   The gas gauge seems to work okay. Speedometer and Tach work. odometer works. trip[ odometer turns but I cannot find where to reset it. Tires look new. The vinyl top is in okay condition. I don't think it has ever been put up. The car comes with an optional hard top that has not been installed. The interior is very clean. but the car just had a complete new interior about a year ago.   The paint is presentable. with some stone chips and orange peel. but presents itself well. I don't see any rust. bubbling. or patches evident in the body.   The undercarriage seems clean as well as under the hood. Everyone comments on how cute and clean the car is. and how long it has been since they have seen one.

The title says that this car is a 1970. but someone has updated the front bumper as well as the rear bumper and clip so it looks like a Michelotti-restyled Spitfire.   I do not know why. and neither does seller (he was not aware of it until I pointed it out to him).

I have a dropbox link I can share with you if you'd like to see more photos of the car.

Let me know if you have any questions before bidding or buying. Car is available for viewing before auction ends in Palm Springs. California. There are no expressed or implied warranties with this vehicle as it a nearly 50-year-old British car.
