I've had this van since 2002. She's a classic and a gem.

Hoping a collector of these vans will buy Baby Blue so she is well taken care of in the future.
At least someone who will respect the quality of these classic vans that just don't wear out if well maintained.

5 speed manual
These vans engines notoriously are so good they go 500. 00 to 700. 00 miles.

I've had it for 11 years and have had very little trouble with it.
Work always has been done by expert mechanics. since I'm no mechanic.

She purrs

Recent upgrades:

New steering column and turn signals mechanism
New headlight controller (don't know the name of it)
Recent Alternator
New carpeting
New headliners (foam insulated) made of baby blue velour - professionally done
New original style seats are inside but not attached yet - 2 captains chairs and one bench in grey/blue velour (I can have them installed for you but that will cost another $150 or you can do it yourself)
I have left them unattached and NOT punched holes in the new carpeting so someone can easily convert this to a camper van if they so choose. I've been wanting to do that myself but never got around to it.
BRAND NEW muffler and EXHAUST SYSTEM a few weeks ago!
Front two buckets are original navy blue vinyl in pretty good shape but not perfect by any means. Have a few rips but not that bad.
Entire interior is in shades of blue and grey
outside body is straight but paint is not perfect.
She pulls mountains like a dream. Very good power and a lot of zip.
Newly carpeted panels on walls
rear pumpkin (axel) replaced about a year ago
has leaf springs. not coil
Not very many miles on new tires.
we parted out a very fancy van like this and upgraded mine with a fancy side step cover and many other interior extras
Will add more details as I think of it all.

THE PICTURES SHOW THE FRONT SEAT IS UP BECAUSE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS OPEN WHEN I TOOK THESE PICS. THE SEATS ARE NOT BOLTED DOWN. THE BACK SEAT IS IN POSITION BUT NOT BOLTED ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE SWIVEL CAPTAINS CHAIRS ARE NOT IN THEIR PROPER POSITIONS AND ARE NOT BOLTED DOWN.

I DECIDED NOT TO CUT HOLES IN THE NEW CARPET SINCE I HAD PLANNED TO MAKE IT INTO A CAMPER BUT NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT. THIS WAY SOMEONE WILL HAVE A CHOICE.

The Not so great:
-Windshield has cracks. They don't obstruct the drivers view as they are low on the window. but there are cracks and dings here and there. Definately needs replaced eventually. [I recently lowered the price from $2900 due to this problem that I had not realized and a little ding to the left at bottom of the sliding door that must have happened while it was stored SEE PIC. I had her stored and I don't know what happened but the windshield isn't so perfect anymore like it was before. ]
SO HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH GLASS
-Gas gauge works great when it's full but as it gets to about half it looks like it's empty. but it's not. I use the odometer mileage counter button to keep track of how many miles I've gone so I know when to fill up again.
-There's no key to the back end door. Can be locked from inside and unlocked there too. We replaced the back door panel and lock but didn't get a key since we used [hard to find] used parts.
-Tiny rust spot above the back door - see picture.
-Mileage seems high at around 236K however. it's actually very low per year since she's 26 years old. Since she has been very well maintained I don't believe it matters. Was told the engine had been changed when I bought it 11 years ago and I've probably put less than 40. 00 on her myself. She pulls mountains like a dream. Very good power and a lot of zip.
-Some pitting to the front of the van that can't be seen from a distance in these pictures. JUST LOADED BETTER PICTURES
-Front seat carpeting could use replacing. Never got around to that part of the new carpeting.
-Back blue velvet headliner has drooped a bit while in storage. Needs to be pushed back up in one spot. (Front seat headliner is brand new - see pictures)
-The door on the gas tank won't close so I use a locking gas cap.
-There is very little rust on the body. however. the touch up paint we used wasn't the right color when it dried. It did stop any big areas of rust from forming like I've seen on so many of these around the sliding door. however. when you get close you'll see the mismatched touch ups.

I HAVE MANY MORE PICTURES is these are not enough.

NOTE: I'm not totally sure that the engine is the one that the eBay system made me choose. I can go out and look at the engine when it's daylight.
It was originally a cargo van that I converted to what you see by adding very fancy things from other fancy Toyota vans like this.

Feel free to write and ask questions. I check my email daily.

She's very reliable. I would not hesitate to drive her most anywhere myself.

These are very collectible. There are numerous collectors/mechanics websites. There are even clubs that drive these together on rallys.

Baby Blue is her name.

I know what she's worth. If you are not a collector you may not know. so don't argue with me if you win the bid. THAT's the price you pay.
Don't come here expecting to dicker with me. You either want it or you don't. If you don't want her I'll go to my second bidder.

Running. well kept care of vans like this just do not go up for sale very often anymore. People keep them. they are such great little vans.
I'm only letting go of Baby Blue because I have too many cars right now.

SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. PLEASE
Please Do not bid unless you are fully ready to come and get Baby Blue if you win.

Cash only for the final sale.

The reserve price is way lower than I've told she is worth.

Thanks for looking.

Have a great day!

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Forrest, dated 02 march 2015
Hello,

My name is Forrest and I have a question for you. I am currently in possession of an 1988 Toyota van wagon and have encountered some issues that are unfortunately nearly financially insurmountable for myself. However, being that the vehicle was a gift from my father whom I did not meet until I was 17, the van holds a great deal of sentimental value and absolutely must not go to just anyone. I am sad to say that he's not in the best of shape, but there is nothing major wrong with him. Just some hoses and maybe a new fuel pump is all that would be required to make him road worthy once more. So, to my question which comes in two parts. 1: would you perhaps be interested in my little van as a new minor project or 2: if not, would you be so kind as to perhaps point me in the direction of some collectors that would be interested themselves? I would greatly appreciate the assistance, I'm not terribly familiar with the automobile culture, and considering the sentimentality in my circumstance I could use it haha. Either way, or none at all, I hope to hear from you soon.

I greatly appreciate your time

-Forrest B.
