1999 Lambo Diablo Roadster Exotic Beauty

Here's your chance to own one of the coolest kit cars everyone wants – Lamborghini Diablo Roadster.   So far. this has been my project for 6+ years and is on-going.   I had major plans to finish this but for health reasons. I can't. This car is 80% done with most of the hard work. welding. chassis extension. body fitment. and engine and transmission setup is complete.

This roadster has a very cool stance with the Diablo 17x10 rims/tires spaced just for the right look and with minimum wheel well. The tall rear wing will most definitely turn heads when this car is driven. Top is removable with rear storage positioned above hood.

Of course. this kit is made from an '85 Fiero chassis that was stretched 11” to the correct wheel base. Construction is very solid and suspension upgrades were made with heavy duty parts and coil-overs. I did the V8 conversion (from V8 Archie) installed with a dual cooling system and twin Vega radiators and electric water pump. Custom exhaust is tuned professionally done with block hugger headers. cat converter and quad monza tips out the back for a cool sound. Runs great. sounds great. drives and stops. Has 350 SBC 5. 7 throttle body fuel injection from a '92 Chevy pickup. with stock Fiero 5-speed manual shift. and power brakes. The car hasn't been started in years. so the gas could be old and needs flushing. and I think it may need a clutch.  Although. THIS CAR IS NOT READY FOR THE STREET. note there are many things that need to be done to finish the kit.

I have bartered. gathered. scrounged. procured. purchased or fabricated many of the components to complete the car with many trips to the junk yard. It does take some internet searching to get what you need. or to figure out what may work on the car.

As like all kit cars. most parts are from other types of vehicles. Like BMW. Corvette. Nissan. Cougar. Mercedes. Chevy pickup. Mitsubishi. VW. Dodge Minivan. Ford Taurus. you get the picture and having a keen sight for things that will work could help save on your budget to get it completed. Certainly. I will share all my notes. ideas. assembly books. receipts and what I had planned with the new owner. Also. an excellent resource for information and assembly ideas can be worked out by seeing and communication with other builders and network what they experienced on certain areas for the kit. Some problems could be similar to your experience.

Here's what I've done so far:

Stretched the Feiro chassis 11”

Coil over upgraded suspension

Shortened steering column 3. 5”

Set shifter back and over 1. 25”

Unique reverse opening front hood using BMW spring hinge and latch

Fitted roadster top to car and to storage on rear hood with snap-in hardware

Engine bay hood structure support upgrade

Custom Rear grille and triangle hood vent

Gauge. stereo and switch arrangement for dash

Wiper blade (long single) fitment

Functional Wing flap

300 z headlights assemblies

Fog lamp fit into front air dam

Mirror assembly and harness

Seat track fabrication to seat shells

Here's what I think it needs:

Need to get doors to latch

Wheel wells finished

Weather strip for doors and hoods

Re-route the gas door to Feiro tank

Complete interior work and upholstery

Glass installation and fit

Complete dash wiring

Stereo and speakers

To conclude… These kits are NOT being produced and/or molded anymore for whatever reason. Now all of them are considered rare and will only go up in value. Very few people have the patients to build them. or the shop to do it in. IT TAKES YEARS TO ASSEMBLE THESE KITS. Some of my pictures are process pics from years ago.

This kit is a Top Gun kit from Canada with quality fiberglass molds and will require body work. flexible thinking and investigating on how to do things. 1000+ things are done for you and my loss is your gain. Ask questions before you bid and I'll try to respond right away with what I know. I've put in many man hours of hard work and welding to get this far and you will not find a Diablo Roadster kit this far along in the process with the completion in sight.
